Position Overview:
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation is seeking a Civics Special Projects Intern to support high-impact initiatives across the organization. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work closely with senior leaders, contribute to strategic planning, and help operationalize big ideas into actionable processes and results. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, highly organized, and eager to gain hands-on experience in strategy, operations, and event planning.

We welcome applications from undergraduate or graduate students, as well as professionals seeking a meaningful part-time opportunity to contribute to impactful work while gaining valuable experience.
This is a part-time hybrid position (20–30 hours per week) beginning immediately and continuing through May or June 2026. The Intern is expected to work in person at least two days per week at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce headquarters in downtown Washington, D.C. Please note that fully remote applicants will not be considered. The hourly rate for this position is between $18.00 and $20.00.
Responsibilities:
+ Collaborate with Foundation leadership to develop and implement strategic plans and operational frameworks for new and existing initiatives
+ Support cross-functional projects by creating timelines, tracking progress, and ensuring deliverables are met
+ Assist in planning and executing events, including logistics, communications, and stakeholder coordination
+ Conduct research and synthesize findings into clear, actionable recommendations
+ Draft internal and external communications, presentations, and reports
+ Identify opportunities to improve processes and contribute to team efficiency
Qualifications:
+ Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for different audiences
+ Highly organized and detail-oriented, with experience managing multiple priorities
+ Demonstrated interest in strategy, operations, or event planning
+ Proactive problem-solver with a collaborative mindset
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with project management tools is a plus
This internship requires U.S. work authorization and is open to candidates with Curricular Practical Training (CPT) and/or Optional Practical Training (OPT).
