Job Description:
As a Data Science Intern in Global Finance Data Science Team: you will be responsible for developing data science, artificial intelligence and digital solutions for J&Js Global Finance organization. You will working alongside a global team of Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Finance Analysts and Machine Learning Engineers to advance data science and AI roadmap for J&J’s Global Finance function. You will help deliver value-added insights and analytics to our finance and business leaders, reduce manual workload through automation, and enhance user-experience.
You will be responsible for data science projects across their lifecycle: Design/ proof-of-concept (PoC), development, deployment, and adoption by end-users. The capabilities developed will include predictive financial forecasting, descriptive analytics and data visualization, decision support, cognitive/ Gen AI technologies, and data science technology platform. You will need to connect with different stakeholders to ensure the solutions meet the business and end-user needs and are widely adopted. This includes partnering with Finance Directors, Group Finance, Commercial leaders, Process Owners, Technology, Finance Systems & Data, Reporting and Compliance teams. You will need to ensure that PoC’s are put into production with the correct amount of automation and systems integration. This role will involve understanding the needs of business stakeholders.
The Data Science Intern will work on advanced analytics and AI projects within Global Finance organization. These can be predictive forecasting, decision analytics, data visualization and Generative AI capabilities. This position will run from 1/5/2026 - 7/10/2026. The intern will be exposed to following areas:
+ Python coding
+ Data Science Platforms such as AWS SageMaker, Domino, Dataiku etc.
+ Research and implement statistical and ML models for predictive analysis and decision support
+ Application of Gen AI to business problems
+ SQL to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets
+ Knowledge of Alteryx for automated workflows, Tableau for dashboards, Dash/Streamlit to deploy applications
+ Mine, engineer and analyze data from big data platforms to drive optimization and improvement in FP&A space
+ Data analysis, Data Mining and Data Exploration
+ Business partnering with various stakeholders
+ Visual analytics leveraging Tableau
+ Scalable Architecture for Predictive Automation and End-to-end System Integration
Qualifications:
+ Candidates must be pursuing an undergraduate or Fifth Year Master’s degree in Data/Computer Science, Engineering, Data Analytics, or like majors with an expected graduation date between December 2026 - May 2028.
+ An equivalent cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
+ Leadership experience is preferred. Some knowledge of 1 programming language (Python, R), Tableau/PowerBI, cloud platforms like AWS or Azure, and MS Excel is preferred
+ Authorization to work in the United States on a permanent, full-time basis is required
+ Ability to temporarily relocate to a different state within the United States for rotational assignment is required
The anticipated base pay for this position is between $25.50/hour and $33/hour, but will be based on candidate’s program year, discipline, degree and/or experience.
This position is overtime eligible.
Co-Ops/Interns may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs such as medical insurance, sick time, and holiday pay in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
