    Weyerhaeuser’s Wood Products Supply Chain organization is seeking a motivated and proven supply chain leader to join our team as a Logistics Director in Seattle, WA. This valued and strategic role contributes to our supply chain success by collaborating daily across our Supply Chain and leading our Logistics team. The role is responsible for supporting all Weyerhaeuser Wood Products operations, with primary responsibility for locations in the Western US and Canada. Reporting directly to the Director of Supply Chain, the Logistics Director will build and maintain strong relationships with transportation suppliers, lead proactive communication, rate negotiation, and contract management. Additionally, this role involves developing and executing strategic and tactical initiatives in collaboration with sales, operations, and logistics teams to meet business objectives.

    This is a hybrid work schedule. Virtual Monday and Friday and in office in our downtown Seattle corporate office Tuesday, Wednesday Thursday.

    Leadership and Team Management:

    * Oversee and develop the logistics team, championing a culture of trust, accountability, and innovation.

    * Lead by example, providing clear direction, coaching, and support to drive team excellence.

    * Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement through innovation, and psychological safety.

    Transportation Strategy:

    * Lead contract negotiations for rail and truck carriers, ensuring optimal terms and strong supplier partnerships.

    * Analyze and communicate market trends, leveraging insights to inform strategic decisions.

    * Conduct cost analysis and provide cost information to sales and finance.

    * Troubleshoot and resolve logistics issues with a customer centric approach.

    Communication and Influence:

    * Share and synthesize information with team members and appropriate stakeholders.

    * Tailor communication style and content to different audiences.

    * Leverage networks to share information, influence decisions and guide outcomes.

    Value Orientation:

    * Drive operational excellence by implementing best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.

    * Deliver measurable value through cost optimization, service level improvements and process efficiency

    * Develop and execute strategies that align logistics performance with broader business objectives.

    * Ensure departmental goals support organizational priorities while fostering innovation and resilience in the supply chain.

    Innovative Thinking & Digital Proficiency:

    * Seek out and pilot new technologies, automation tools, and digital solutions to streamline logistics processes.

    * Encourage experimentation and learning in AI applications relevant to logistics and supply chain.

    Transportation Market:

    * Responsible for ensuring transportation market dynamics are understood by key stakeholders.

    * Integrate and synthesize information for actionable insights.

    * 8 years of experience in logistics/transportation

    * Direct responsibility for rail and truck contract negotiations

    * Demonstrated people leadership and strategic planning experience, with a collaborative and inclusive style that includes hiring, training, and mentoring teams.

    * Transportation industry knowledge by mode, including safety requirements, laws, and regulations. Ability to analyze market trends and integrate insights into strategy

    * Curiosity and aptitude for technology, automation, and entry-level AI concepts.

    * Proven ability to quickly identify issues, develop effective solutions, and implement them in a dynamic logistics environment, adapting to changing market conditions, customer needs, and supply chain disruptions.

    * Education: Bachelor’s degree required

    *Desired Skills / Qualifications*

    * Advanced Data Analytics: Experience leveraging analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to drive insights and support decision-making in logistics

    * Process Improvement Certification: Six Sigma, LEAN, or similar certification

    * Vendor Management: Strong track record in managing and developing supplier relationships beyond contract negotiation.

    * Proficiency in SAP or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, with the ability to leverage these tools to optimize logistics processes, enhance data accuracy, and support informed decision-making.

    *What We Offer:* **

    *Compensation*: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of$129,145-$193,858based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 20% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

    *Benefits*: When you join our team, you and your dependents will be offered coverage under our comprehensive employee benefits plan, which includes medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, and life insurance. We offer a pre-tax Health Savings Account option which includes a company contribution. Other benefit options are also available such as voluntary Long-Term Care and Employee Assistance Programs. We also support personal volunteerism, sponsor a host of diversity networks, promote mentoring, and provide training and development opportunities to help you chart your path to a fulfilling career.

    *Retirement*: Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our annual contribution equal to 5% of your base salary.

    *Paid Time Off or Vacation*: We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours and paid parental leave for all full-time employees.
