Analyzes, designs, develops, and implements technology solutions and/or strategies to meet the needs of an organization/group. Offers solutions to more senior staff to bridge gaps between business and technology, leveraging broad technological knowledge and skills. Conducts audits of systems to ensure the system continues to function properly and optimally, identify areas for improvement, and verify compliance of the system. Performs routine and non-routine maintenance on systems to ensure optimal functioning and avoid system failure. Identifies and conducts research to advise systems design, data definition, data access, or configuration changes. Duties and Responsibilities Consults with users, diagnosing and resolving problems found in application implementations, suggesting appropriate software solutions and computing platform(s) to meet the generally defined requirements of users, and assisting in other ways on technical and programming issues related to information processing. Explains IT processes and concepts to technical and non-technical audiences and describing technical information at a high-level to communicate how technology processes and concepts directly impact and influence stakeholders. Implements software systems and applications using security best practices and change control to meet business requirements. Conducts audits of systems to ensure the system continues to function properly and optimally, identify areas for improvement, and verify compliance of the system. Operates system controls to coordinate computer network access and use. Stays up to date on IT security trends and disaster recovery processes to apply this knowledge to recommend security enhancements. Monitors the computing environment for security breaches. Installs and maintains distributed processing systems. Develops system access profiles and IT frameworks based on user requirements. Thinks through the various aspects that go into designing a system including, but not limited to, business needs, cost considerations, and functionality. Performs routine and non-routine maintenance on systems to ensure optimal functioning and avoid system failure. Handles the administration of shared databases and/or maintenance of the security and integrity of data systems; identifies and conducts research to advise systems design, data definition, data access, or configuration changes. Collects and analyzes data to identify trends in data, produce data visualizations, and examine data to help provide context for pertinent issues. Complies data findings into visually appealing, easy to follow reports to summarize outcomes. Supports division customers with a variety of technology needs that may include: developing new tools for users, maintaining existing web applications in the division, creating web pages, and/or debugging new application breaks. Participates in researching technologies that might enhance user experience. Offers ideas in the strategy/planning, product development, product launch, and all stages of product life cycle. With moderate guidance, plans, organizes, and assigns tasks for the development and implementation of large-scale and highly complex information or information security systems. Provides guidance and consultation to project participants and may have some supervisory responsibility for professional staff. Maintains knowledge of evolving trends in technology to develop innovative approaches that deliver value; understands business requirements and processes in order to assist in identifying technologies that meet the requirements. Develops and/or implements short- and long-term strategies to meet the automation, computing, database, and information management requirements of the division and the Board. Collaborates with team members and shares information/knowledge to ensure the best strategies are implemented. Designs, implements, supports, and maintains automation, computing, and database systems essential to meeting those strategies. Position Requirements Overview The United States will assume the G20 presidency in 2026 and the G7 presidency in 2027.  The Board, jointly with the U.S. Department of the Treasury, will have responsibility for the G7 and the G20 Finance Tracks, which are among the primary international forums to bring central bank and treasury officials together across the world’s largest economies to discuss pressing economic challenges, address financial stability risks, and coordinate on global policy issues.  About the Team   The International Engagement and Strategy (IES) section within the International Finance Division supports the Board’s international engagement and promotes the visibility and influence of Board economic and financial expertise in international policy dialogue.  Responsibilities include: developing and executing an international engagement strategy; conducting international policy research and analysis; monitoring global geopolitical developments; coordinating perspective on international policy issues across the Board and System; managing relationships with other central banks and finance ministries; supporting Board staff participation in, and contributions to, relevant working groups at international organizations; and, coordinating international meetings and visitors to the Board.   About the Role The Data and Technology Analyst will help create and maintain the technology infrastructure to host the G20/G7 presidency. This will include managing version control on issues notes with multiple authors across the Board and government agencies, establishing digital capabilities to integrate comments on communiques from all G20/G7 member participants and international organizations, and populating and maintaining the content on the official G20/G7 website.  The Data and Technology Analyst will analyze, design, develop, and implement technology solutions and/or strategies to meet the needs of G20/G7 engagements.  The Data and Technology Analyst will identify and conduct research to advise systems design, data definition, and data access in support of international meetings and engagements. Duties and Responsibilities The Data and Technology Analyst in IES works independently with moderate guidance, as well as with other staff members, and: Develops and maintains SharePoint collaboration and repository capabilities to enable co-author coordination on issues notes, manage multi-stakeholder input, and ensure timely and effective communication of information with G20/G7 participants and the public, as appropriate. Helps lead technical aspects of the G20/G7 meetings registration process and troubleshooting any issues that arise and ensuring robust security measures for all digital platforms and communications. Helps populate and maintain the content on the official G20/G7 website. Develops and maintains an international engagement relationship management tool. Explains IT processes and concepts to technical and non-technical audiences and describes technical information at a high level to communicate how technology processes and concepts directly impact and influence stakeholders. Operates system controls to coordinate computer network access and use. Stays up to date on IT security trends and disaster recovery processes to apply this knowledge to recommend security enhancements. Monitors the computing environment for security breaches. Advises on collaboration tools and practices to support G20/G7 virtual meetings and drafting of communiques. Helps conduct virtual meetings via audiovisual support and facilitation. Position Requirements/Qualifications To qualify at the below grade levels, candidates must hold a degree in computer science, information technology, data analytics, or related discipline, and have the accompanying minimum years of relevant experience, excluding time spent in post-graduate study.   Bachelor’s Master’s FR-25 4 2 FR-26 5 3   A strong sense of collegiality and teamwork is essential.  Prior experience with technical support, software development, technology evaluation and analysis, and application development and management. Problem Solving: Works with moderate guidance and high degree of professional independence, technical authority, initiative, reliability, and maturity of judgment. Analysis: Analyzes a wide variety of complex issues and finds solutions for problems; demonstrates advanced proficiency in technical knowledge and analytical ability to interpret and solve technically complex problems. Teamwork: Ability to work well in group settings and to represent the Board’s interests at various working groups and committees of international organizations.    This is a two-year term position. The position requires 100% on-site presence at our Downtown Washington, D.C. offices. Travel frequency is up to 10% depending on business needs.
