Responsible for writing and editing documents for official staff. Develops and implements communications approaches and technologies, applying communications and marketing principles. Edits in-house division publications. Serves as the communication liaison with external stakeholders. Maintains the internal websites; develops web pages. May coordinate special employee events. Duties and Responsibilities Advises division management and staff regarding editing, design techniques, and graphics layout assistance.  Produces communications publications and vehicles and redesigns and redevelops publications, when necessary.  Develops content for publications and websites. Produces print and electronic publications.  Plans and develops publication content, writes articles, edits manuscripts prepared by contributing writers, and assists with graphic design. Maintains and edits website while keeping content current as necessary.  Develops web pages and reviews the work of other staff members who prepare information for the division. Assists in the planning, development, enhancement, and execution of internal and external communications strategies of moderate complexity for the division with input from division leadership or subject matter experts. Proofreads and edits communication materials for grammar, clarity, style, and tone to ensure consistency of language, and appropriateness for audience and message delivery mediums.  Collaboration with authors and stakeholders to develop or refine content. Assists in the development of communications strategies for division programs and initiatives. Supports coordination with the Public Affairs Office to align internal and external communications. Supports communications initiatives, campaigns and outreach. Provides full event-planning services for division events. Duties include conducting frequent consultations with officials and event planners, selecting an appropriate location, planning menus and arranging for food service, planning facility set-up, and providing transportation. Oversees pre-event preparations, resolving last-minute problems, attending functions to ensure smooth implementation, and providing a post-event evaluation to improve future events. Assists with gathering and organizing materials for external and internal engagements Position Requirements Overview The United States will assume the G20 presidency in 2026 and the G7 presidency in 2027.  The Board, jointly with the U.S. Department of the Treasury, will have responsibility for the G7 and the G20 Finance Tracks, which are among the primary international forums to bring central bank and treasury officials together across the world’s largest economies to discuss pressing economic challenges, address financial stability risks, and coordinate on global policy issues.  About the Team The International Engagement and Strategy (IES) section within the International Finance Division supports the Board’s international engagement and promotes the visibility and influence of Board economic and financial expertise in international policy dialogue.  Responsibilities include: developing and executing an international engagement strategy; conducting international policy research and analysis; monitoring global geopolitical developments; coordinating perspective on international policy issues across the Board and System; managing relationships with other central banks and finance ministries; supporting Board staff participation in, and contributions to, relevant working groups at international organizations; and, coordinating international meetings and visitors to the Board. About the Role The Communication Specialist will maintain continuous and diplomatic communication with G20/G7 delegations to ensure all participants are aware of meeting agendas, expectations and deliverables.  The Communication Specialist serves as the communication liaison with members and participants in the G20 and G7 meetings, including central banks, finance ministries and international organizations.  The Communication Specialist is responsible for writing and editing documents for official communications related to G20 and G7 meetings. With moderate guidance, the Communication Specialist develops and implements communications approaches, utilizing various forms of technology and communication channels. Duties and Responsibilities The Communication Specialist in IES works independently with moderate guidance, as well as with other staff members, and: Responds promptly and professionally to numerous daily inquiries from G20/G7 delegations, including central bank leadership offices. Manages communication surges prior to meetings, ensuring accurate, timely and consistent information dissemination. Drafts and distributes clear and concise instructions and requirements to all G20/G7 delegations. Liaises with the Board's public affairs office and provides updates on G20/G7 events and content for media inquiries. Writes, proofreads and edits communication materials for grammar, clarity, style, and tone to ensure consistency of language, and appropriateness for audience and message delivery mediums.  Collaborates with authors and stakeholders to develop or refine content. Assists in the development of communications strategies, programs, and initiatives. Advises on editing, design techniques, and graphics layout assistance. Assists with gathering and organizing materials for external and internal engagements. Position Requirements/Qualifications To qualify at the below grade levels, candidates must hold a degree in communication, business administration, international policy/affairs, or related discipline, and have the accompanying minimum years of relevant experience (i.e. Federal Reserve System or other policy institutions), excluding time spent in post-graduate study. Bachelor’s Master’s FR-24 3 1 FR-25 4 2 A strong sense of collegiality and teamwork is essential.  Prior experience with communication, coordination and outreach with international meetings, international organizations, and central banks and other official sector institutions is strongly desired.   Collaboration: demonstrated ability to collaborate with and influence individuals with differing priorities and interests. Communication: Strong oral and written communication skills. Formal writing experience is required. Decision Quality: Makes timely, thoughtful decisions. This is a two-year term position. The position requires 100% on-site presence at our Downtown Washington, D.C. offices. Travel frequency is up to 10% depending on business needs.
