Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is recruiting for a **Director, Business Process Optimization** to be located in **Titusville, NJ; Raritan, NJ or Springhouse, PA.**
This position will be responsible for leading complex projects, completing the top priority initiatives aligned to the Global Development strategy. The position may also be called upon to drive process performance assessments and continuous improvement initiatives employing internal and external insights to solve key business problems, impacting program and study delivery. This role will be required to drive high-priority initiatives, develop cross-functional teamwork, and adapt to evolving business needs in alignment with GD strategic business plan.
You will be responsible for:
+ Lead projects/teams in alignment with overall program goals, supervising and leading the coordination of activities within a team, driving execution of program and project plans, and proactively anticipating and presenting concerns/delays in the program to develop risk assessments, drive improvements, and align partners to contingency plans
+ Maintain an overview of program status and issues and proactively communicate progress, risks, issues, or changes that may impact quality, timelines, and/or budget; provide program-level updates to partners as requested.
+ Lead all aspects of budgets, resources, and timelines within or across projects/programs, ensure review, presentation, and approval of initial plans, and lead the plan through the program's lifecycle by presenting changes to partners, sponsors, and governance, as appropriate.
+ Perform partner identification and management, dependency mapping, and oversight throughout project lifecycle.
+ Mentor and guide team members and ensure they have all the resources required to complete their assigned tasks.
+ Effectively connect with sponsors, leadership and business partners within and outside of Global Development on project and process status and requirements for assigned projects.
+ Network with internal and external experts to exchange learning, good practices and leverage industry benchmarking. Establish strong relationships with critical business partners across Global Development and outside of Global Development to ensure alignment.
+ Deliver on the connectivity of systems and supporting technology associated with projects and business processes.
+ Apply an innovative and continuous improvement mentality within and across the Innovative Health pipeline of capabilities, processes, and the organization.
+ Shape the continuous learning and knowledge management support structure for the process value stream.
Principal Relationships:
Partners closely with Global Development leaders and team members, as well as with R&D Quality, JJT, and Data Science. Additionally, they will have key interfaces with business partners in Global Medical Safety, Procurement, Legal, HCC, Therapeutic Areas, and Clinical Supply Chain primarily driven by the nature of the assigned projects. Moreover, contacts and collaboration with External Vendor groups (directly or indirectly) may be required.
Education and Experience Requirements:
+ Bachelor’s degree is required. Advanced degree is highly preferred (MA/MS/PhD/MBA).
+ 10+ years of experience in program management or equivalent experience is required.
+ A successful track record of leading and implementing project excellence capabilities within large cross-functional teams across diverse project portfolios is required.
+ Expert project management skills, cross-functional engagement, and organizational skills are required.
+ The ability to influence and negotiate with a wide range of senior partners (e.g., functional area heads) is required.
+ The ability to provide operational and strategic direction and guidance to ensure program health is required.
+ Strong analytical skills with a data-driven planning, execution, and problem-solving approach are required.
+ Budget management expertise and solid financial competence are required.
+ A consistent track record of building, leading, and developing productive teams and collaborations is required.
+ Advanced interpersonal skills via verbal, written, and presentation abilities are required.
+ Proactive and self-disciplined, the ability to meet deadlines, effectively use time, and prioritization are required.
+ The ability to mentor, develop, and educate teams is required.
+ Confirmed leadership promoting motivation and empowerment of others to accomplish individual, team, and organizational objectives is required.
+ Skilled & experienced in change management is required.
+ The ability to look for and champion more efficient and effective methods/processes of program delivery with emphasis on key performance metrics around reliability, productivity, cost, and quality is required.
+ Experience in Clinical Operations or Quality Operations with exposure to clinical development teams/processes is required.
+ Exposure to global compliance and Business Process Ownership (i.e. Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Training, Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPAs), Process Improvement, Metrics, System and/or Technology) is required.
+ Knowledge of continuous improvement tools and application to business process preferred.

+ Position requires global interaction; ability to work virtually with business partners is required
+ Ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
$160,000-$276,000
Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees and/or eligible dependents are eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance. Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)). This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.
