The Opportunity ...
JBT Marel (JBTM) is seeking a dedicated and proactive Warehouse Manager to join our team. You will promote a safety-first culture, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure operational excellence within our Alpahretta Warehouse.
Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, you'll oversee daily operations at JBT Marel's multi-product line distribution center in Alpharetta, GA. You'll guide key warehouse performances—receiving, inventory control, picking, packing, and shipping—while leading a team of 20+ employees, including supervisors, coordinators, and associates. You'll lead continuous improvement initiatives to elevate quality and productivity, all while maintaining JBT Marel's strict HSE standards.
+ Safety and Compliance:
+ Promote a safety-first culture within the facility.
+ Own Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) performance and champion continuous improvement initiatives, including 6S compliance.
+ Leadership and Performance Management:
+ Set clear requirements and expectations for Warehouse Supervisors and staff.
+ Measure performance, provide constructive feedback, and hold the warehouse organization accountable for achieving performance targets.
+ Operational Excellence:
+ Establish and manage daily warehouse standard work procedures, ensuring compliance from top to bottom.
+ Build labor plans through productivity and forecast reviews, ensuring staffing to meet daily operational demands.
+ Cross-Department Collaboration:
+ Work with departments such as Customer Service, Purchasing, RCI, HR, Finance, Safety, and IT to build and secure necessary support for warehouse operations.
+ Process Improvement:
+ Drive process changes and other Lean initiatives to lead the business unit in meeting and exceeding the business plan.
+ Lead continuous improvement initiatives and empower team members to engage in root cause analysis and problem-solving.
+ Equipment and Supplies Management:
+ Oversee the effectiveness of warehouse equipment and supplies.
+ Ensure preventative maintenance on forklifts and other material handling equipment is performed regularly.
+ Maintain adequate inventory levels of warehouse supplies.
Requirements for the role
+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent in work experience.
+ Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in a high-volume warehouse or distribution center environment.
+ Collect data, analyze, and form action plans.
+ Must work with MS Word and Excel.
+ Prioritize and meet goals within a high-volume environment.
+ Flexibility to work some overtime during weekdays available and on weekends, as needed.
+ You must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future.
Location
+ You will be fully onsite
+ Spend approximately 60% of time in a warehouse environment including an inbound, pick, inventory count, and outbound environment. The remaining 40% of time is in an office or meeting environment. Exposed to possible shop or site installation hazards including heavy equipment, shop traffic, uneven/slippery footing, inclement weather, etc. The site requires appropriate safety measures such as safety shoes and safety glasses.
+ Frequent sitting and operating computer. Frequent walking and standing in a warehouse environment. Manual lifting to 50lbs. Fast paced environment with multiple priorities, constant change and a variety of problems and people involved.
