Job Responsibilities:
Core Responsibilities
+ Data Management & Analysis: Collect, manage, and analyze program data to support educational effectiveness and accreditation requirements. This includes designing and optimizing data pipelines, preparing data sets, and managing program-specific databases.
+ Reporting & Visualization: Perform statistical analysis and create compelling data visualizations, dashboards, and reports for internal and external stakeholders, including administrators, faculty, and accreditors.
+ Survey & Assessment: Design, administer, and analyze surveys and other evaluation instruments to gather critical feedback and support program assessment needs.
+ Accreditation Support: Assist with the development of accreditation reports, manage assessment workflows, monitor compliance with continuous improvement schedules, and support accreditation site visit logistics.
+ Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments to retrieve, organize, and manage data, and work with internal stakeholders to interpret data and present findings.
+ Ad-Hoc Requests: Respond to and fulfill ad-hoc data requests, creating queries and reports as needed.

+ Education & Experience:
+ Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 1-3 years of experience in educational assessment, data analysis, or a similar role. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
+ Technical Skills:
+ Demonstrated experience performing and interpreting statistical analysis.
+ Proficiency with statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R, SAS).
+ Experience working with large data sets and data structures.
+ Experience creating data visualizations, dashboards, and reports.
+ Soft Skills:
+ Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
+ Flexibility and adaptability to handle new tasks and special projects.

Department/College Description:
The physician assistant major in the College of Health Sciences and Technology is offered as a BS/MS degree program, which enables students to earn both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in five years. The curriculum is divided into a pre-professional phase (years 1 and 2), which includes course work in the basic sciences, mathematics, general education, and liberal arts; and a professional phase, (years 3, 4, and 5), which features didactic medical education and culminates in clinical rotations in which students apply their medical knowledge in a series of rotations through various disciplines of medicine.
During the professional phase, students are assessed on their medical knowledge and clinical skills. The Data and Assessment Analyst is essential for managing this process. They:
+ Collect and Analyze Data: The analyst gathers data from student assessments, surveys, and clinical rotation evaluations. They use statistical analysis to interpret this data, identifying trends and areas for improvement in the curriculum.
+ Support Accreditation: The PA program, like all medical programs, must maintain accreditation to ensure its quality and credibility. The analyst prepares the data and reports required for accreditation reviews, demonstrating that the program is meeting or exceeding national standards.
+ Inform Program Leadership: The analyst's work informs the Coordinator of Assessment and other program leaders, providing them with the insights needed to make strategic decisions about curriculum adjustments, resource allocation, and faculty development.
In short, while the faculty are focused on teaching and mentoring students, the Data and Assessment Analyst provides the essential data infrastructure to prove that the program is successful and to guide its ongoing evolution.

Job Summary:
The Data and Assessment Analyst plays a crucial role in driving data-informed decisions and supporting accreditation efforts for the Physician Assistant program within the College of Health Sciences and Technology at RIT. This position is responsible for the complete data lifecycle—from collection and management to statistical analysis, interpretation, and reporting. The insights generated will directly support continuous program improvement, accreditation reporting, and strategic initiatives. This role reports to the Coordinator of Assessment.
