Construction Management is responsible for supervising and coordinating all on-site construction activities through the installation of a project or multiple projects. Monitors safety, quality, and schedule in the field, while providing technical expertise and ensuring work in place meets the quality requirements of contract documents, applicable codes, and Disney standards. This Studio Coordinates and interfaces with all WDI Studios, DLR / WDW Operations, and Security, contractors, vendors, and governmental agencies.
Construction Management is the primary responsible Studio for everything that happens on WDI construction projects, including all impact to Operations.
This position will report to a Principal and/or Senior Construction Manager and is located in Anaheim, California.
This is a Project Hire position with no guarantee of permanent placement.
What You Will Do
On any given day, as an Associate Construction Manager, we might:
+ Manages an entire scope of a small project or scope of work (i.e., guest rooms, graphics, FF&A, restaurant, retail etc.) which is self-contained and definable, within financial parameters and to the high-quality standards of WDI and DX
+ Assists with informational flow and tracking (Submittals, RFI's, QA / QC)
+ Makes recommendations for product and people conflict resolution and problem solving on project within their scope
+ Assists in finalizing budget
+ Plays an active role in preparing professional bid packages
+ Manages relationships with Owner / Operator
+ Assists field team with daily issue resolution with other team members: Ride, Show, Entertainment, etc.
+ Assists with Assistant Construction Management tasks
+ Coordinates with multiple internal WDI and DX departments and external entities (including include Project Management, Estimating, Scheduling, Ride Engineering, vendors and contractors)
+ Assists with Punch / Completion Lists
+ Permit tracking (COA website for DLR / Accela program for WDW)
+ Manages construction site badging and site aerial photos
+ Provides administrative assistance to field team
+ Helps fill timeslot voids in the field (ie. cover superintendents)
+ Becomes familiar with WDI CM Duties, as defined in the CM ToolBOX
Experience
+ 2 years outside trade related experience or 1-2 years WDI experience.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Understanding of the Project Development process
+ Understanding of scheduling, budgeting, and quality control
+ Organization skills
+ Task management
+ Expanded computer proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
+ Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
+ Bluebeam (Drawing Reviews)
+ Proficient in latest version of Autodesk Field Management software applications
+ Various GC Project Management Platforms - Reservoir (WDW Only) - Per Division 1, GC may recommend a project management software (WDW Only)
Education
+ College degree in a WDI Core discipline (such as Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Landscape Architecture) or related professional or technical school

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, California, is $103,500.00 to $138,800.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
