The Consumer Group Design System (CGDS) is a centralized team within the Consumer Group that accelerates Intuit’s mission by delivering innovative and foundational design system guidelines, tools, and services that support Intuit designers and developers across TurboTax. We partner with the Intuit Design System (IDS) team who serves all of Intuit’s design systems across TurboTax, QuickBooks, Mint, Mailchimp and many other Intuit offerings.
To help us achieve this, we are seeking a _systems-thinking_ **_Product Design Manager 3_** to lead the CGDS team focused on enhancing our strategies to increase velocity of the designer and developer experience, and which delivers a best in class end user experience. In this role, you'll expertly lead a team of design system designers empowering Intuit to confidently deliver beautiful, cohesive experiences.
Responsibilities
+ Lead Design Strategy & ExecutionOwn the vision, strategy, and execution of the Consumer Group Design System (CGDS), ensuring it meets the evolving needs of TurboTax customers and teams.
+ Drive Cross-Functional CollaborationExpertly manage stakeholder relationships across brand, product design, product management, and engineering to identify customer problems, define requirements, track progress, and deliver high-quality solutions. Build and nurture strong partnerships that connect design and development, ensuring consistency across design and code.
+ Design System Architecture & ComponentsDefine and drive the design architecture, including foundational design tokens, components, patterns, and their use across product themes and modes. Collaborate closely with brand and product design teams to ensure alignment with business goals and customer needs.
+ Maintain & Scale Design AssetsCreate and maintain robust Figma libraries, ensuring synchronization between design and code. Evolve the design of innovative system tooling, including Figma plugins, to improve management of tokens, components, and themes.
+ Enable Adoption & Community BuildingAdvocate for design system adoption across teams, acting as a subject matter expert and providing consultation through Slack, office hours, and status updates. Foster a thriving community of designers and developers who actively contribute to and evolve the system.
+ Continuous Improvement & InnovationSurface opportunities to improve processes, deliverables, and customer experiences. Balance long-term design system strategy with the need to continuously ship, iterate, and evolve. Drive improvements that increase the speed, quality, and impact of CGDS delivery across the Consumer Group.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
+ 7+ years of experience in system design, visual design, interaction design, product design, service design, or related field.
+ 3+ years of experience managing designers.
+ Practical design systems experience that shows strong ownership of or significant contribution to an existing design system.
+ A clear understanding and point of view on how generative and predictive artificial intelligence will change product design, and how design systems can be cohesively applied across web and mobile to support that evolution.
+ Examples of design and development advocacy that led to breakthrough adoption of design system tools, processes, or artifacts.
+ Highly collaborative team spirit able to take in multiple points of view, synthesize decisions, and communicate outcomes across the organization.
+ Mastery of design tools (we use Figma), agile development methodologies, and accessibility requirements, both in design and code.
+ Artistry and excellence in simplifying complex ideas, identifying risks and dependencies, and delivering for customers within the constraints of technology.
+ Confidence in managing through ambiguity with a track record of creative problem solving that demonstrates flexibility.
+ A love for technology, and an insatiable curiosity for new tools to solve real problems.
