Job Description
Insight Global is seeking an Automation engineer with a foundation in Azure to support a large government contract. The applicant must have extensive automation experience and cloud knowledge, and able to cite hands-on experience with integration, system analysis or programming, including developing systems requirements and design specifications. Experience in both Azure and AWS is preferred. The Automation Engineer will be responsible for developing new pipelines, enhancing existing pipelines, providing expert troubleshooting, and resolving complex incidents in support of the managed automation infrastructure. A passion for performance, strong desire for quality conformance, and attention to detail are prerequisites for this position.
Key Responsibilities include:
• Pipeline and infrastructure automation
• Serve as automation expert relating to pipelines built and managed in a multi-GovCloud environment
• Demonstrate pipeline orchestration tool experience relating to infrastructure as code (IaC)
• Develop code using scripting and programming language
• Investigate and resolve issues across existing pipelines
• Perform root cause analysis to address underlying IaC issues and provide solutions to prevent recurrence.
• Cloud infrastructure operating system (OS) knowledge
• Linux OS engineering/admin experience required
• Windows OS experience is a bonus, but not required
• Azure Infrastructure Management
• Manage and maintain the Azure infrastructure, including virtual networks, virtual machines, storage accounts, and other services
• Ensure that all tenants’ Azure resources are secure, FedRAMP compliant, and optimized for performance
• Collaborate with the Architecture team to implement solutions that align with best practices for Azure cloud infrastructure
• Adhere to Change Management procedures
• Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing
• Collaborate with other team engineers to resolve development issues/incidents and implement improvements
• Document solution designs, process procedures, and lessons learned to enhance team knowledge
• Provide technical mentorship and knowledge sharing to more junior engineers less familiar with pipeline and infrastructure automation
WORK HOURS: This position requires working online from 8:00 AM Eastern to 5:00 PM Eastern

Skills and Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or IT related field of study (Equivalent years of experience may be substituted for education.)
• 10+ years of experience in a technical role
• 5+ years of automation and integration experience on cloud services and infrastructure.
• 3+ years of extensive hands-on experience with automation involving a wide range of Azure services including but not limited to Azure VMs, Azure AD, Azure Networking, Azure App Services, Storage, and Databases.
• Required Certification:
• Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
• Required pipeline and infrastructure automation experience:
• Pipeline Orchestration tool experience required, with GitLab preferred
• IaC experience required, with Terraform preferred
• Config as Code is required, with Ansible preferred
• Some PowerShell and bash scripting required
• Python programming language required
• Experience with incident management, root cause analysis, and resolving high-priority incidents in large, multi-tenant environments.
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of Azure GovCloud and deploying in Government environments.
• Exemplary communication, analytical skills, and technical knowledge across the client environment.
• Ability to produce concise and clear technical documentation.
• Preferred Skills:
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using ARM templates or Terraform
• Experience with PowerShell, Azure CLI, or other automation scripts to troubleshoot and resolve issues
• Azure Solutions Architect Expert
• Other Certificates supporting Microsoft technologies
• Preferred Certifications:
• Azure Developer Associate (AZ-204)
• AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate (SOA-C02)
• AWS Certified Developer – Associate (DVA-C02)
• GitLab Certified Git Associate
• HashiCorp Certified Terraform Associate
• Specialty in AT LEAST ONE of the following areas is desired:
• Cloud Security
• Data aggregation and automated reporting
• Networking
• CI/CD
• Containerization and/or Serverless engineering
