Job Description
A SUE (Subsurface Utility Engineering) Manager is a management position responsible for
overseeing the SUE practice in an assigned office, managing multiple projects, and
ensuring the accurate identification and mapping of underground utilities for infrastructure
projects. This role involves managing field crews, client relationships, and project timelines
to reduce risks and ensure regulatory compliance for clients.
Key Responsibilities:
• Project Management: Overseeing SUE projects from start to finish, balancing
multiple projects simultaneously.
• Team Leadership: Managing and directing SUE field crews and processors
• Client Relations: Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients
• Technical Oversight: Ensuring work adheres to Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE)
standards, including the use of advanced locating technologies.

Skills and Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
• BS Degree + 6 years of related experience, AS Degree + 8 years of related experience
or HS/GED + 10 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of
experience and/or education.
• Experience with SUE practices and procedures in accordance with ASCE 38-02 &
38-22
• Valid Driver’s License required to regularly drive vehicles to project sites. As a
condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records
review Preferred Qualifications:
• 4 years of management experience
• Must have strong written and oral communication, supervisory and mentoring,
attention to details and accuracy, planning, decision making, problem solving
• Experience reading and ability to process CAD, GIS, and MicroStation files
• Experience processing survey data into CAD and MicroStation files
• Experience with financial management
• Business development and marketing experience
• Ability to work independently with little supervision
• Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
• Ability to travel out of town and work overtime
• Ability to walk long distances of several miles daily
• Oversees all QA/QC functions to ensure accurate and high quality deliverables to
clients
• Develops and maintains relationships with existing and new clients
• Normal office environment with occasional field site visits for progress review and
quality control or estimating new work and be able to travel out of town overnight for
project assignments
• Proficient in MS Office and Database Management
