    Purpose:

    We are seeking a dynamic Vice President, External Wholesaler to lead and expand Athene’s presence within the Financial Institution. This individual will be responsible for driving regional sales growth, cultivating advisor relationships, and executing strategic business plans in partnership with the Division Sales VP and Internal Wholesaling team. The ideal candidate is a results-driven sales leader with a deep understanding of fixed annuities and a passion for helping financial institutions succeed.

    Accountabilities:

    + Strategic Territory Development: Partner with the Division Sales VP to design and execute territory-specific business plans that accelerate growth and align with Athene’s broader sales objectives.

    + Collaborative Sales Leadership: Work closely with your Internal Wholesaler Partner to identify top opportunities, develop actionable business plans, and deliver exceptional advisor support.

    + Relationship Management: Build and sustain strong relationships with key financial institutions and advisors, serving as a trusted resource on Athene’s product suite and market insights.

    + Advisor Enablement: Conduct engaging and educational product and sales training sessions—via workshops, branch meetings, and one-on-one sessions—to enhance advisor confidence and effectiveness.

    + Market Expansion: Identify, recruit, and develop new advisors while deepening relationships with existing producers to increase overall market share.

    + Sales Execution: Maintain a consistent and strategic travel schedule (approximately 75%) to drive field activity, deliver in-person presentations, and close opportunities.

    + Territory Leadership: Oversee regional marketing initiatives, manage budgets and expenses responsibly, and ensure all sales efforts align with compliance standards.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    + Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (military experience considered in lieu of degree).

    + 10+ years of successful external wholesaling experience, ideally in the fixed annuity or financial services sector.

    + In-depth understanding of the Fixed Annuity Marketplace and advisor distribution channels.

    + Licenses: Active Life & Health, FINRA Series 6 or 7 required; Series 6 must be obtained within six months of hire.

    + Proven record of sales growth and territory expansion with measurable results.

    + Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.

    + Strong business acumen and the ability to adapt to changing markets and organizational priorities.

    + Must reside within the designated sales region and be willing to travel extensively (up to 75%).

     

    $62,400.00 - $93,600.00 USD Annual

     

    Annual Salary for this role is market competitive. Actual salary for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Depending on the role, a discretionary bonus plan or variable sales incentive may be included.
