Description
Position Summary
Teal Drones, a wholly owned subsidiary of Red Cat Holdings, is looking to fill an immediate position for a full-time Buyer. Teal is a rapidly growing technology company focused on creating worldclass system solutions serving a broad range of applications for design and development of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS drones) for use in defense, public safety, and other government security organizations.
The Buyer will report to the Purchasing Manager and will be responsible for supporting supplier management and procurement activities. This position focuses on placing and tracking purchase orders for direct and indirect materials, services, and tooling in line with company requirements. The buyer will play an important role in expediting orders, resolving delivery issues, and ensuring suppliers meet established quality and delivery expectations. The successful candidate should demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow up effectively. Problem-solving, adaptability, and sound judgment are essential for supporting evolving projects and changing priorities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ Create and process purchase orders and order amendments for a variety of materials, products, and services.
+ Monitor open orders and proactively follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery.
+ Expedite critical orders and resolve delivery or scheduling issues as they arise.
+ Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, production, and product management) to support evolving project needs.
+ Track and report order status and progress to ensure alignment with business requirements.
+ Communicate with internal stakeholders to confirm specifications and requirements are met.
+ Support suppliers in resolving basic issues related to delivery, quality, or documentation.
+ Identify and escalate potential risks or delays while contributing ideas for practical solutions.
+ Assist with documentation, reporting, and other administrative tasks to support procurement processes.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
+ 3-4 years of purchasing, supply chain, or administrative experience; or equivalent coursework/degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field.
+ Strong organizational and follow-up skills with attention to detail.
+ Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing project requirements.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
+ Effective communication skills for engaging with suppliers and internal teams.
+ Problem-solving mindset with willingness to take initiative and learn.
Additional Desired Qualifications
+ Previous experience in electronics.
+ Experience with SAP Business One.
+ Developed aptitude on computer programs relating to supply chain, software, and knowledge of purchasing/accounting processes.
+ Ability to review and interpret mechanical drawings and datasheets.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
+ Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer.
+ Capacity to lift and carry objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
+ Ability to move around the office or warehouse environment as needed.
+ Visual acuity to read and interpret documents, including electronic screens and printed materials.
+ Manual dexterity to operate office equipment and perform tasks such as typing and writing.
+ Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with colleagues and external partners.
+ Flexibility to adapt to changing work environments and responsibilities.
