Make a difference as a Quality Assurance Technician
As a new Quality Assurance Technician at Barrett Petfood, you will be immersed in a variety of engaging tasks that ensure our products meet the highest standards. Daily responsibilities include conducting inspections of incoming materials and finished goods, performing routine quality checks, and documenting findings accurately. You will collaborate closely with the production team to identify and resolve potential quality issues, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Monitoring sanitation practices and adherence to safety protocols will also be part of your daily routine.
Additionally, you will assist in implementing innovative quality assurance procedures. Your role will be crucial in maintaining a customer-centric focus, ultimately ensuring that our products are safe and reliable for pets and their owners.
Day to day responsibilities
+ Ensures and verifies that all plant departments and employees are adhering to the quality standards and guidelines of the company.
+ Takes samples, tests, records, and reports on basic physical, chemical, and biological properties of ingredients, formulations, packaging, and other associated material, leading to their acceptance, approval, or disposition.
+ Actively monitors, teaches, and enforces plant sanitation policies, GMP's, HACCP, and methods for allergen control
+ Prepares, maintains, monitors, and tracks plant documentation
+ Monitor the departmental efficiency, testing and approval times, yields, scrap loss, and other key indicators
+ Teaches, instructs, and leads plant employees in issues regarding sanitation
+ Accurately prepares and maintains all departmental forms and documents. Monitors the completion of paperwork by other departments, emphasizing optimum record keeping within all plant areas.
