Kurt Manufacturing is actively seeking a 2nd Shift Die Cast Operatives Supervisor I. This position is responsible for the operations and production activities of assigned department(s), ensuring production goals are efficiently met while upholding the highest standards of safety and quality. This position coordinates work assignments and supervises shop floor employees, ensuring policies and procedures are followed to maintain effective operations (CNC Machining, Inspection, Assembly, Machine Operations, Shipping/Receiving and Die Cast).
2nd Shift: Monday - Thursday; 3:00 p.m. - 1:00 a.m.
Compensation: The anticipated starting hourly rate this position is expected to be $29.00 - $37.50. The hourly rate may be determined on a combination of factors including the candidate's knowledge, experience, skills, abilities, and education.
Shift Differential: Employees assigned to the second shift are eligible for a 20% pay differential for hours worked.
Essential Functions
+ Oversee production schedules, coordinates workflow, and ensure production goals are met, modifying work procedures and using knowledge of machine and equipment capacities to adjust.
+ Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
+ Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
+ Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product, and suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department or work crew.
+ Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
+ Recommends or initiates personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, discharges and disciplinary measures.
+ Responsible for training new and existing employees.
+ Maintains time and production records.
+ May confer with other Supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
+ May set up machines and equipment.

Required
+ High School Diploma or equivalent GED
+ Extensive experience in a manufacturing environment (5+ years)
+ Understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and quality systems
+ Successful experience providing work direction or acting in a lead or supervisory role
+ Organizational and leadership abilities
+ Ability to adhere to company policies, procedures, and work instructions
+ Good communication and interpersonal skills
+ Self-motivated and results-driven
+ Effective problem-solving skills
Preferred
+ A Degree in technical engineering, or relevant field
+ 8+ years of related experience
+ Previous experience leading, setting up and assisting on machines

100% employee owned, Kurt Die Casting is a division of Kurt Manufacturing and located near Minneapolis, MN. Employees at our die casting facility can gain experience in multiple areas of manufacturing including aluminum and zinc die casting, CNC machining, automation, and quality control. We have over 100,000 square feet of manufacturing space with the capacity and capability to service a diverse set of customers and industries. Kurt Die Casting features 20 CNC machining centers and 15 die casting machines ranging in size from 500 to 1,200 tons. Many of the castings we produce feature challenging designs that require secondary operations such as machining, finishing and assembly.
