    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Our Dev/Ops teams are tightly coupled and integrated with the culture, tools, practices, and patterns of the rest of our software engineering organization. They not only “keep the lights on” for our systems and networks, but also empower our other development teams with cutting edge tools and capabilities to bring Vertafore products to market as quickly as possible. We aspire to and maintain a very strong focus on the "Development" side of Dev/Ops practices, while applying and maintaining quality Operational delivery for our customers and development teams.

    Core Responsibilities:

    • Support large-scale web applications in a cloud environment.

    • Develop a strong automation practice to drive efficiencies in infrastructure, Dev/Ops and application deployments.

    • Provide support in upgrading Dev/Ops infrastructure for existing products and greenfield development.

    • Coordinate with software development teams in developing and implementing software applications.

    • Assist Managers in analyzing project requirements and project design.

    • Collaborate with peer organizations to deliver software applications.

    Core Requirements:

    • Experience working in a Dev/Ops, software development, or closely related role preferred.

    • Experience with Linux server operating systems preferred.

    • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash).

    • Knowledge of cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).

    • Knowledge of infrastructure provisioning tools (e.g., Terraform or similar).

    • Knowledge of a configuration management tool (e.g., Chef, Ansible, Puppet or similar).

    • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Bamboo, Jenkins, GitLab, TFS, etc.).

    • Knowledge of containerization and application servers (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, WebLogic, Tomcat, etc.).

    Additional Requirements and Details:

    + Travel required up to 5% of the time

    + Located and working from an office location when required

    + Ability to work remote with a stable internet connection on an as needed basis

    + Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds.

    + Frequent repetitive hand and arm movements required to operate a computer.

    + Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision (working on a computer, etc.).

    + Frequent sitting and/or standing.
