Position: Director of Radiation Therapy

Summary:
This position reports to the department's Associate Chief Operating Officer. The Director of Radiation Therapy (DRT) provides technical leadership and is responsible for therapy operations at all practice sites of the Department. This role also ensures that therapists operate within their scope of practice, while supporting therapy specific continual process improvement through developing and monitoring metrics related to performance and quality. The DRT is responsible for developing and implementing therapy specific policies and procedures and supporting standardization across the department. In addition, the DRT will partner with Departmental leadership to support alignment with budget, clinical initiatives and serve as the therapy process owner within the department's quality and safety programming.
The DRT will support developing strategic operating and financial plans to accomplish the department's mission. The DRT also partners with each entity to ensure departmental compliance with Regulatory and Radiation Safety guidelines. The DRT serves as the leader in ensuring therapy expertise and supports models for interdepartmental collaboration and communication to promote excellence in coordination and continuity of care. Director of Radiation Therapy will progressively demonstrate and exceed competencies in domains for healthcare leadership, communication, relationship management, knowledge of the healthcare environment, leadership, professionalism, and business skills and principles. Leadership responsibilities focus on advancing therapy practice through excellence in clinical care, education, continuous quality improvement, management of human resources, supervision, and coaching of personnel.
The DRT will work with leaders across the department to support the strategic vision of the department. The DRT will remain current and proficient in the operations of the treatment equipment, daily treatment techniques and processes, and possess the necessary skills to train, monitor and assess the competency levels of therapists to perform their technical duties safely, effectively, and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
+ Provide leadership over the day-to-day management of therapy operations and therapist personnel at PCAM and Network Sites in order to deliver exceptional care to patients in partnership with department clinical, technical and operational leaders.
+ Lead the team of radiation therapists to support a safe, high-quality environment for care delivery.
+ Directly supervise therapy leadership.
+ Ensure compliance to all regulatory and safety standards (departmental, institutional, Joint Commission, Apex, State, etc.).
+ Ensure patient treatments meet all expectations and safety guidelines.
+ Responsible for development of and adherence to all therapy related policies and procedures relevant to the scope of practice.
+ Continuously review clinical practice standards and provide recommendations for updates as related to radiation treatment delivery.
+ Proactively recommend and implement quality enhancements to Therapy operations.
+ Promote safe care via Condition Reporting System reporting. Investigate CRS and Safety Net reports, and non-compliance with established department. standards, to identify root cause. Report findings and remediation appropriately.
+ Monitors all expenses relative to therapy i.e. overtime, supplies, equipment.
+ Assist in billing, productivity, and other productivity captures.
Credentials:
+ Must possess a current certification of completion from an approved Radiation Therapy Technology Program (Required).
+ Must possess a current ARRT certification and state licensure (Required).
+ BLS/CPR as a healthcare provider as per the American Heart Association (Required).
Education or Equivalent Experience:
+ Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Related Field (Required).
+ Graduate of accredited Radiation Therapist Program (Required).
+ 10+ years of experience in radiation therapy (Required).
+ 5+ years management experience (Required).
+ Master's degree (Preferred).
