    Position Summary

    As a Product Development Project Engineer – Global Lights R&D, you will collaborate with a dynamic team of engineers and technologists to deliver and sustain a robust pipeline of innovative portable lighting products while working closely with cross-functional teams to bring products to market. The ideal candidate is a proactive innovator and self-starter who can balance hands-on product development with project management, while continuously seeking opportunities for improvement.

    Responsibilities

    + Lead the development of new portable lighting products for global and region-specific markets

    + Develop clear, actionable plans to achieve R&D objectives in collaboration with Marketing

    + Provide engineering estimates and business case analyses to support decision-making in assigned program areas

    + Collaborate effectively across functions and with external partners to leverage expertise and meet business goals

    + Track competitor product advancements and monitor relevant intellectual property developments within the assigned technical domain

    + Conduct research and design robust experiments to develop new or improved technologies, devices, or processes with marketable cost/performance advantages

    + Generate and evaluate new engineering or scientific knowledge that contributes to the technical foundation of assigned programs

    + Conduct research and critically evaluate relevant technical literature to recommend sound technical approaches that support project objectives

    + Contribute to the development of Intellectual Property through experimental work and collaborative discussions

    + Drive continuous improvement initiatives and identify cost-saving opportunities for existing products

    + Provide regular written documentation and oral presentations to assess and communicate project progress

    What we are looking for

    + 1-2 years of Project management experience

    + Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical) or Science or equivalent work experience

    + Minimum 1 year of experience in product development, including developing test plans, analyzing data, and determining next steps in iterative development programs

    + Working knowledge of Solidworks

    + Proven ability to lead product development projects from concepts through scale-up and full implementation

    + Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and communicate clearly with stakeholders

    + Quick learner with the ability to master new technologies and adapt to evolving market needs

    + Comfortable working with cross-functional teams, including remote and international colleagues

    + Exposure to health risks or conditions may require the use of Personal Protective Equipment, including the potential use of a respirator

    + Willingness to travel occasionally, including international, and participate in evening meetings (approximately 10%) with global teams

    + This position reports Monday-Friday

    What we prefer

    + Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering

    + Hands-on experience with LED technologies and the ability to apply this knowledge to develop innovative, cost-effective consumer products

    + Background in consumer product development and/or project management, with a strong understanding of the product life cycle

    + Familiarity with injection molding, optics, thermal management, electronics, and rapid prototyping techniques such as 3D printing

    Total Rewards Package

     

    The salary range for this position is USD $67,000.00/Yr. - USD $113,000.00/Yr.

     

    Actual base salary offered to a candidate may vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
