Our mission-driven team is seeking a bold and dynamic **Senior Manager of Power, Avionics, and Control Systems (PAC)** who is fueled by high ownership, execution horsepower, growth mindset, and driven to understand our world, science/technology, and life itself, for the benefit of all on Earth and beyond.
POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for a resilient, high-energy, experienced Senior Manager of Power, Avionics, and Control Systems who will lead the design, development, and test of electronics for Axiom’s EVA Spacesuit. The role requires strong problem solving, organizational, time management, and communication skills.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Provide key leadership to a 50+ person team that is responsible for developing critical life support electronics and software
+ Establish strong working relationships across the organization and across external stakeholders
+ Install and maintain project management best practices across the department
+ Provide guidance for hardware and software systems, technical discussions, organization, and architecture development
+ Ensure operational commonality across the department
+ Prepare and deliver presentations to Axiom and NASA management
+ Drive key technical, cost, and schedule decisions to closure
+ Develop and enforce standards of work quality across the department
+ Identify gaps within the department and work to fill them
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience
+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or similar discipline
+ 10 - 15 years of experience in engineering and engineering management
+ Experience leading technical teams larger than 10 people
Preferred
+ Experience with space flight hardware, life support systems, electronics used in harsh or extreme environments, or military avionics
+ Extensive leadership experience
+ Project management experience
+ Strong background in electronics design, fabrication, and testing

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.
Requirements
+ Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation
+ Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised
+ Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position
+ Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet critical project milestones
Physical Requirements
+ Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time)
+ May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time)
