The
Firearms Instructor - PRN is responsible for managing firearms equipment
inventory, coordinating training and qualifications, and ensuring compliance
with the National Rifle Association (NRA) Law Enforcement regulations. Coordinates with lead instructor for
equipment purchases as needed. Reviews
permit applications, schedules range qualifications, maintains communications
on firearms laws, and provides updates to staff.
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS:
1. Manages firearms equipment (i.e. targets, training rounds, holsters, etc.) and training needs for range training and qualification in accordance with company policy and NRA regulations. Coordinates with lead instructor for equipment purchases as needed.
2. Projects, coordinates, and schedules dates/times with firearms ranges for firearms qualifications.
3. Reviews and certifies permit applications to ensure accuracy of information and required fees. Submits application to NRA for processing as required.
4. Approves or disapproves range qualifications in accordance with NRA Law Enforcement regulations.
5. Maintains communication with the NRA Law Enforcement administrators and provides up-to-date changes and revisions of laws related to firearms licenses to staff.
6. Conducts follow-up communication on firearm permit status with Learning and Development Managers and other staff as required by policy.
7. Domestic U.S. travel is required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
+ Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, Public Administration, or a related field.
+ 5+ years of supervisory or management experience in operations, case processing, or administrative support, preferably within a contracted service or law enforcement setting.
+ Demonstrated ability to maintain program compliance, participate in audits or reviews, and support staff development and training.
+ Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to adapt to evolving policies and operational priorities.
+ Must be able to pass a background check, meet ICE suitability standards, and travel within the region as needed.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
*** Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred:
+ Experience overseeing multiple sites or teams is preferred
