    **Additional Information:** This hotel is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, Fontainebleau Development. The franchisee is a separate company and a separate employer from Marriott International, Inc.     Scope of Position

     

    The Recreation Manager will be responsible to lead, coordinate, and administer Recreation, Pool and Guest activities to ensure profitability, quality standards and services, and guest satisfaction for the pool area.

    Responsibilities

    Manage the daily operation of all Resort Pools and Recreation experience including group activities, all waterpark features, adult, and kid pools to meet the expectations of guests daily.

     

    Lead effort in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring associates; conducts performance appraisals, coach and counsel, progressive corrective action, motivate, develop, and train.

     

    Organize, control, and direct the work of associates in the department while ensuring guest satisfaction.

     

    Develop a strong team through effective and consistent leadership and communication.

     

    Builds and manages relationship with appropriate vendors responsible for providing any service to the resort.

     

    Ensure that guest and associate concerns are resolved in a professional and timely manner.

     

    Prepare weekly work schedules in accordance with staffing guidelines, labor forecasts, and assign work for efficient use of equipment and personnel.

     

    Perform daily walk-through of restaurant to ensure full compliance with Department of Health regulations and JW Marriott Turnberry Miami Resort & Spa standards.

     

    Ensure all daily rehearsal meetings are conducted.

     

    Effective and timely interaction with all Hotel departments including participation and representation in departmental meetings as required.

     

    Participate in departmental meetings and communicates a clear and consistent message regarding the departmental goals to produce desired results.

     

    Ensure Associates receive on-going training to understand guest expectations.

     

    Performs other duties as assigned by management.

    Position Requirements

    Professional demeanor appropriate for a luxury environment.

     

    Pool operation/recreation experience is required.

     

    Minimum 2-3 years experience in a supervisory/leadership role is required.

     

    Effective in providing effective customer service and ability to increase profits.

     

    Ability to thrive in a busy, fast-paced team environment as well as work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.

     

    Food and beverage knowledge is a plus.

     

    Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns raised by guests.

     

    Well organized and demonstrated strong problem-solving skills.

    Education

    2-year or 4-year degree from an accredited university, or equivalent experience in luxury hotels/resorts or waterparks.

     

    Skills and Abilities

     

    Ability to communicate in the English language. Second language is a plus.

     

    Ability to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends and able to perform multiple tasks.

     

    Experience using computers and software programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

    Physical Requirements

    Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.

     

    Must be physically fit in order to lift, pull and push items up to 50 pounds.

     

    Also requires standing/walking/reaching and bending throughout shift.
