    The Pencader Site in Newark, DE has an exciting opportunity for a Packaging and Shipping Technician to join our team!

     

    Utilize your problem-solving skills in this role as you work to deliver Vespel® parts in accordance with all safety, quality, and production best practices in order to meet all customer requirements and continuously grow the Vespel® business.

    The incumbents will ensure quality and conformance with standard operating procedures. They will maintain safety standards always and initiate and follow emergency procedures when necessary. They will also rotate through various roles within the shipping, receiving, and packaging area.

     

    The goal of this position is to efficiently and effectively operate plant equipment and systems in a way that safely packages, ships and receives products, minimizes cost, and protects the environment.

     

    **Key essentials of this job/what you'll do:** :

    + Working with a team.

    + Assist with customer root cause/corrective action investigations

    + Communicate with other departments to keep product flowing to meet customer demand.

    + Perform visual check to ensure product is correct and quality standards are met.

    + Operate computers, electronic weigh scales, and labeling machine.

    + Use computer-based systems such as SAP, Loftware, Email and MS Office Suite

    + Packaging of finished product.

    + Label finished product.

    + Ship finished product.

    + Interact with vendors to receive incoming product

    + Maintain and order shipping/packaging supplies

    + Operate fork trucks and motorized equipment.

    * This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization due to required Export Compliance.

    Job Qualifications:

    The following are required:

    + High School Diploma/GED

    + At least 3 years of manufacturing or related experience

    + Basic math and computer skills including Microsoft Office, Outlook, etc.

    + Demonstrated team player and results driven

    + Able to contribute to continuous improvement through observation, attention to detail and follow through

    + Ability to write and interpret written instructions

    + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    + Flexible to changing priorities and demonstrates self-management

    + Willing and able to wear required PPE (personal protective equipment) such as steel toes, protective eyewear, face shields, etc.

    + Must pass a pulmonary function test

    + Willing and able to lift up to 40 pounds and complete work that involves repetitive motion and/or repetitive lifting

    + Willing and able to stand for extended periods of time, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, reach overhead, and climb stairs

    + Willing and able to work overtime including weekends/holidays when required
