THIS IS A TEMPORARY EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

Position Summary:

Tidal Basin is seeking qualified candidates for the Individual Assistance Case Manager position supporting our client and applicants impacted by disaster events.

Job Duties and Responsibilities include:

+ Implement and coordinate the Individual Assistance Programs

+ Perform intake, and assessments, gather documents to establish disaster program eligibility including payments and withdrawals/denials

+ Review, analyze, evaluate, and coordinate eligibility determinations

+ Coordinate eligibility and payments through the Federal Disaster System

+ Conduct review of cases to ensure proper processing

+ Mediate complex problem resolution

+ Function as a liaison and applicant advocate

+ Maintain a high standard to protect client information

+ Provide resources and referrals to clients to meet their disaster-related unmet needs

+ Provide assistance to applicants throughout the application process

+ Maintain client-related data systems, including case notes and a complete system of record entries

+ Work collaboratively with a team

+ Exhibit a strong work ethic and a desire to adhere to strict boundaries and professional ethics in the care of others, awareness of the impact of a disaster on the community, family, and individual

+ Maintain a complete understanding of all applicable Program policies and requirements

+ Other tasks as assigned

Experience and Education:

+ Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred

+ It is preferred that individuals possess a minimum of one year experience as a member of a state or federal recovery operation, or equivalent experience commensurate with the ability to perform the necessary duties

+ Basic knowledge of the FEMA Disaster Case Management Program is desirable

+ Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

+ Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications and Adobe Acrobat
