    Role Overview

     

    As a **Clinical Laboratory Scientist I – Microbiology** , you will perform diagnostic testing, quality control, and specimen analysis to ensure accurate and timely patient results. This position supports BayCare’s Esoteric Laboratory and plays a vital role in identifying microorganisms and assisting in the diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases.

     

    You will contribute to the reliability and precision of laboratory operations while supporting BayCare’s mission of clinical excellence and patient-centered care.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Perform all diagnostic testing and quality controls in Microbiology according to established procedures.

    + Prepare reagents and maintain equipment and supplies.

    + Report results accurately and promptly in compliance with regulatory standards.

    + Review and oversee moderate to high complexity testing for accuracy.

    + Utilize and maintain laboratory computer applications and systems.

    + Work independently and collaboratively within the laboratory team.

    + Demonstrate effective communication, organization, and critical thinking skills.

    + Apply knowledge of medical terminology to daily operations.

    + Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • **Certification & Licensure**

    + **Required:** State of Florida – Clinical Laboratory Technologist License

    + **Preferred:** ASCP Certification

    • **Education**

    + **Required:** Associate’s Degree in Medical Technology or related field

    + **Preferred:** Bachelor’s Degree in a related field

    • **Experience**

    + **Preferred:** One year of laboratory experience (Microbiology preferred)
