Job Summary and Qualifications
The **Health Plan Economics Specialist** is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of health plan economics analyses, metrics and health plan reporting in a Managed Care environment relating to the financial, quality and operational performance of the company, as well as other duties as assigned by the Controller and CFO.
**SUPERVISOR:** Controller
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
+ Collaborate in the development, implementation, and maintenance of databases, tools and systems that will be used for Health plan Metrics, Analytics and Reporting for a Managed Care organization
+ Develop and maintain related reports for Managed Care performance metrics, targets, membership, revenue and medical expense by health plan, Line of Business and Specialty, as a health plan delegated payer
+ Ad hoc report development in platforms such as AS400, Cozeva, Excel, SQL, Power BI
+ Provide support for Finance, Contracting, Planning, Budget and Forecasting, and Monthly Performance
+ Work with Finance, Medical Management, Contracting, IT and Claims departments
+ Provide support for and attend health plan Joint Operating Committees
+ Attend Health plan contract negotiations
+ Maintains strictest confidentiality
+ Practices and adheres to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement”
EDUCATION:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or other business related field - required
EXPERIENCE:
+ Experience in Health Care and Managed Care
+ Five to six years of experience in a Finance or Accounting position preferred
