• Central Sterile Processing Technician

    Overview

     

    We are seeking aCentral Sterile Processing Technicianalso referred to as our Central Supply Tech or SPD Processor. The Sterile Technician plays a critical role in maintaining patient safety by preventing infection and ensuring sterile conditions throughout the hospital or healthcare facility.

     

    Shift’s Available: Variable: Morning/Afternoon/Evening

     

    Employment Type:Per Diem/PRN

     

    Hours:8-hour shift

    Responsibilities

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

    + Responsible for decontamination, preparation, sterilization of central sterile trays, instruments and equipment

    + Inventory and restocking of supplies

    + Computer data entry and patient charge card batching

    + Demonstrates knowledge of all department locations within facility and ability to access all departments

    + Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills

    + Demonstrates detailed awareness and knowledge of patient supplies and equipment

    Qualifications

    Education and Work Experience

     

    Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

     

    + Completion of a Sterile Processing program

    + High school diploma or equivalent or GED equivalent

    + Ability to read, comprehend and communicate effectively in writing

    + Skills to maintain active communications with surgical staff

    + Current BLS (AHA)

    Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:

    + At least one (1) year experience as a Central Sterile Technician in an acute care hospital setting, but will provide competency based orientation for all staff, including new graduates

    + Minimum 6 months acute patient care facility

    + Sterile Processing Certification recommended

    + Medical terminology knowledge
