At Merrimack Health, we are committed to pay transparency and equity. The base salary range is $18.05 (Min) — $27.07 hourly (Max), excluding fringe benefits and potential bonuses.
Your final base salary will be determined based on your education, experience, licensure, and internal equity considerations. Offers are typically made below the top of the range to support future salary growth.
As the Patient Access Representative, you will perform all tasks related to pre-registration and registration of patients in an efficient, accurate and professional manner to ensure that the patient, physician and hospital needs are met.
Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Perform accurate registration and insurance verification, ensuring collection of all critical data elements necessary for proper patient identification for registration and billing.
+ Communicate in a professional, positive and respectful manner with patients and offices and provide consistent, excellent customer service in a variety of situations.
+ Complies with point-of-service cash collection, balancing, batching, and depositing in accordance with hospital policies.
+ Review error reports are provided and correct errors before the end of the shift.
+ Manage all incoming calls into the department and distribute them as necessary.
+ Complete other duties as assigned.
Required:
+ High School diploma
+ Computer and typing experience
+ Customer service skills
Preferred:
+ Prior experience working directly with the public in a healthcare patient access environment.
+ Prior knowledge of third-party insurance and medical terminology.
+ English/Spanish bilingual is preferred.
Bilingual English-Spanish highly encouraged to apply
