Our client, a leading organization in the technology sector, is seeking a Software Development Engineer 3 to join their innovative team. As a Software Development Engineer 3, you will be part of the engineering department supporting critical system development and maintenance. **Location:** Hillsboro, OR - Onsite
Pay Range: $54.10 - $59.53 on Experis W2
What's the Job?
+ Apply advanced principles of computer science and engineering to design, develop, support, and maintain Linux kernel components.
+ Develop, enhance, and optimize device drivers for various hardware devices to ensure seamless hardware integration.
+ Debug and troubleshoot kernel and driver issues, including performance bottlenecks and hardware compatibility problems.
+ Support production systems by monitoring kernel and driver health, responding to incidents, and implementing necessary fixes.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve system stability, performance, and hardware support features.
Best to have:
• Strong experience in Linux kernel development and device driver programming (C, C++).
• Deep understanding of operating system internals, hardware-software interaction, and low-level debugging.
• Proficiency with kernel build systems, version control (git), and open-source workflows.
• Ability to analyze and resolve complex system issues, including kernel panics and hardware faults.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical documentation and collaboration.
• Experience working independently and managing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
•Familiarity with the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and support.
