Short Description
Compensation: Role starts at $82k+. Negotiable depending on experience.Weekly Production Bonus and Yearly Profit-Sharing Bonus.Competitive Benefits Package.
The Automation Engineer is responsible for collaborating with Maintenance and Production teams to maximize safety and optimize Nucor Rebar Fabrication processes.
Basic Job Functions:
+ Training team members across locations to support consistent performance and knowledge sharing.
+ Using engineering principles, algorithms and techniques to trouble shoot and improve both the process and equipment.
+ Developing and implementing improvement plans involving both hardware and software systems.
+ Providing support outside of normal business hours as needed, including flexible scheduling for unscheduled and scheduled overtime, weekends, and holidays.
+ Assisting with regional maintenance initiatives and supporting cross-site collaboration.
+ Adapting to evolving responsibilities as assigned by the area Supervisor/Manager in response to operational needs.
+ Traveling regularly to other regional NRF locations to identify improvement opportunities, resolve issues, and share best practices.
+ Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Requirements:
+ Bachelor's Degree in Process, Electrical, Automation Engineering or related field OR
+ 2 years of industrial maintenance and automation experience
Preferences:
+ aSa software experience
+ 2 - 3 years of experience in a reinforcing steel fabrication environment
Physical Demands:
+ Some heavy lifting may be necessary
+ Working conditions can be noisy/ dusty/ hot/ cold
Special Demands:
+ Due to the operating conditions of the position, this is a safety sensitive position
+ Frequent travel to regional branches
