Duties Description ITS provides operational support to state agencies on a 24x7x365 basis; some positions may be required to provide this critical service at any time.Under the direction of the Deputy Commissioner for Technology, SG-NS, the Principal Power Platform Developer (Project Director, SG-NS), will be a key player in designing, developing, and maintaining complex software solutions using Microsoft technologies to support the critical mission of the New York State Department of Health. The incumbent will leverage their deep expertise in (C#), Oracle PL/SQL, Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI), and API development to deliver impactful solutions. The incumbent will also provide technical leadership, mentorship, and support to other team members.Specific duties will include but are not limited to the following:• Design, develop, and deploy custom Power Apps (canvas and model-driven) to streamline business processes and improve data accessibility.• Create and manage Power Automate flows to automate workflows and integrate with other systems.• Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for data visualization and analysis.• Design and develop RESTful APIs to facilitate integration between systems.• Assist with Oracle database design and generation of DDL scripts.• Develop and execute system test plans and coded unit testing procedures.• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other developers.• Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, and other stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications Seven years of experience in computer science, information technology, or a related field, including one year of supervisory experience.The following degrees may substitute for the general experience as indicated: • Associate’s degree and six years of experience.• Associate’s degree including 15 semester credit hours in computer science and five years of experience.• Bachelor’s degree and five years of experience.• Bachelor’s degree including 15 semester credit hours in computer science and four years of experience.• Master’s degree in computer science or related field substitutes for an additional year of experience.• Doctorate in computer science or related field substitutes for an additional 2 years of experience.

Additional Comments ITS will not offer permanent employment to any candidate unless the candidate provides documentation that they are authorized to accept work in the United States on a permanent basis.
