    Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) is seeking a highly motivated professional for a Project Manager II position.

     

    This position will be located in Boise but will act as the statewide subject matter (SME) expert in ITIP Risk Management and Project Charter Management, as well as support other SMEs in the Program Management Office (PMO) to provide coverage and reduce the group’s compartmentalization of duties. This position requires a high level of discretion and independent judgement as it pertains to risk management and other project/program management duties as assigned. This is a high-level professional position that will be filled by an experienced professional that can build and maintain professional relationships across the 6 ITD District offices.

    Example of Duties

     

    + SME for program wide cost & schedule risk assessments.

    + Coordinate with FHWA on risks/rewards of large corridor projects.

    + Represent the PMO for ITD’s Enterprise Risk Management Planning.

    + Educate districts in risk management identification and mitigation.

    + Support the District staff as a statewide resource for risk management.

    + Support statewide effort to improve ITD project management business practices.

    + Support statewide project chartering and project scheduling & delivery efforts.

    + Support project managers statewide in the efficient and effective delivery of the ITIP.

    + Help with develop and implementation of a project bid readiness requirement guide.

    + Assist the PMO in the development and completion of the annual ITIP update cycle.

    + Work with other SMEs in the PMO to support funding, estimating, and project management best practices.

    + Provide back-up coverage to other PM2s in the PMO as needed.

    + Complete other Project Management Duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Experience:

    + Planning and implementing projects including coordinating the development of project scope, goals, work plans, timelines, implementation strategies, and measurement processes/methods for assessing progress toward goals and project outcomes.

    + Interpreting and explaining specialized or complex material into information usable by the public.

    + Developing and monitoring contracts.

    + Typically gained by one year of work experience in all the areas above.
