    The Idaho Transportation Department is hiring a temporary, non-benefited, Shopkeeper for our District 4 Shop, located in Shoshone, Idaho. The successful candidate would play an essential role, working directly with our shop staff. This opportunity provides practical real-world experience and exposure to a variety of shop and mechanical tasks.

     

    This position requires driving an ITD vehicle. A valid driver’s license is required and a driving record review is required.

     

    Responsibilities:may include, but are not limited to

     

    + Collecting and transporting shop parts and supplies

    + Loading, unloading, and organizing shop equipment

    + Cleaning and general maintenance of shop

    + May perform routine maintenance procedures including oil changes, tire rotations, fluid flushes, etc.

    + May perform multi-point vehicle inspections

    + Following and promoting our high standards of safety, cleanliness, and organization

    + Working together with other technicians you will solve problems, meet deadlines, and deliver great results

    Qualifications

    + A strong motivation to learn a mechanical service career path

    + Shows a high level of interest, willingness to learn, and embraces new ideas

    + Good communication skills and strong attention to detail

    + Self-motivated and exemplifies a positive attitude

    + A valid driver’s license

    Physical Requirements

    + Occasionally lift and/or move over 50 pounds

    + Be able to work with tools on vehicles lifted above their head

    + Work in tight spaces as dictated by the vehicle's needed repair

    + Have the needed dexterity in order to efficiently use hand-tools

    + Walk/stand for the majority of the workday

    + Drive manual transmission vehicles
