3D CAD Technician/Drafter
Seeking an experienced 3D AutoCAD Drafter interested in a career in the utilities industry to join a team working in office in Wichita, Kansas. While travel is not required, local field visits are optional for training opportunities.
Job Description
The Contract CAD Technician provides essential document management support for Substation Engineering. Guided by the Document Manager, this role involves assisting Engineering Analysts by revising existing drawings based on as-built field corrections and, after training, updating Issued for Construction (IFC) drawing packages. The documentation includes internal drawings, external vendor drawings, and supporting documents. With further training, the position will also support the Engineering Tech in liaising between engineering and field personnel to produce and publish new IFC drawing packages.
Responsibilities
+ Gather technical information and up-to-date drawings for projects.
+ Create new 3D material coded parts for electrical substation models.
+ Utilize the Autodesk Vault 3D parts library to create 3D substation models.
+ Generate drawings based on one-line and substation standard drawings.
Qualifications
+ Education & proficiency in the use of Autodesk CAD products is essential.
+ 3+ years of experience in CAD is preferred, but recent graduates in a technology-related field will be considered.
+ Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite.
+ Customer service and team-building skills are a plus.
+ Ability to self-check for accuracy and willingness to accept guidance.
+ Persistence and a positive attitude.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.67 - $38.00/hr.
