    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    The primary purpose of this position is to maintain environment, health, and safety compliance at

    UNC Charlotte. The goal of this position is to ensure a safe and healthy environment for the faculty, staff students, and visitors.

     

    + Administer Injury and Illness Prevention, Personal Protective Equipment, Ergonomics, Hand/Power Tools, Sanitation and Ergonomics programs.

    + Conduct safety inspections to identify and correct hazardous conditions as well as performing workplace hazard assessments and conducting injury incidents and accident investigations.

    + Assist with the monitoring of other Health and Safety programs such as Lockout-Tagout, Indoor Air Quality, and Hearing Conservation.

    + Develop online safety educational materials and facilitate classroom safety training sessions.

    + Respond to emergencies and customer safety service requests.

    + Continuously monitor safety performance and draft reports.

    Minimum Experience / Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in physical science, biological science, environmental science/engineering, occupational safety, industrial technology, or related discipline; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

    Preferred Education Skills and Experience:

    + Experience and knowledge administering Injury and Illness Prevention, Personal Protective Equipment, Ergonomics, Hand/Power Tools, Sanitation and Ergonomics programs.

    + Experience and knowledge conducting safety inspections to identify and correct hazardous conditions as well as performing workplace hazard assessments and conducting injury incidents and accident investigations.
