Job Description: Project Engineer
We are seeking a dedicated Process Engineer to join our facility in Dolton, IL. This role involves process design and optimization, control systems support, process safety oversight, equipment reliability analysis, and daily troubleshooting. The engineer will be instrumental in driving operational performance, initiating continuous improvement, and supporting capital projects.
Responsibilities
+ Identify and implement plant optimization and improvement opportunities.
+ Evaluate manufacturing KPIs, including Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
+ Support engineering efforts for capital projects.
+ Troubleshoot complex plant issues with the engineering team.
+ Collaborate with maintenance and operations to improve safety and quality.
+ Execute cost savings and capacity improvement initiatives.
+ Support process safety programs such as MOC, HAZOP, and PSSR.
+ Manage and maintain the Emerson DeltaV Distributed Control System (DCS).
+ Work with Product Management and R&D to implement new or modified products.
+ Provide shift supervision in the absence of production supervisors.
+ Ensure compliance with GMP, SOPs, HACCP, and regulatory standards.
+ Lead or participate in Root Cause Analysis teams.
+ Report monthly on engineering projects and KPIs.
Essential Skills
+ Strong process safety knowledge.
+ Proficiency in lean principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
+ Experience in continuous and process improvement.
+ Project management skills, especially in capital project management.
+ Familiarity with DeltaV and process engineering.
+ Background in food manufacturing and processing.
+ Understanding of regulatory standards like FDA, HACCP, and USDA.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering, or Engineering Management (or equivalent).
+ Minimum of 3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
+ Proven leadership, mentoring, and team-building skills.
+ Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
+ Hands-on experience with Continuous Improvement methodologies.
+ Supervisory experience preferred.
+ Familiarity with Lean principles and reliability practices such as FMEA, ACA, and DfR.
+ Experience in the emulsifier industry preferred.
+ Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification.
+ Capital project management experience up to $250k.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
