Position Description
Position reports to the Supervisor Engineering Tank Integrity; manages Tank Integrity maintenance and repair projects for Project Management Group (PMG) tanks
Primary Roles & Responsibilities:
+ Manage tank integrity projects for PMG tanks requiring maintenance according to API 653 requirements
+ Support portions of larger capital projects requiring new tank construction per API 650 and/or significant tank upgrades
+ Manage small piping projects at terminals to facilitate tank service changes
+ Collaborate with Operations, Scheduling, Environmental and Business Development to develop schedule for performing tank work
+ Prepare estimates, budgets, schedules, materials and contract specifications, procurement plans, and work plans for projects; track and report on project progress and performance
+ Review financial commitments and expenditures, ensure maintenance of accurate forecasts, and report on monthly project performance reports
+ Plan, schedule and execute tank integrity projects to meet Kinder Morgan standards and policies
+ Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards for assigned projects
+ Prepare the annual sustaining capital budget and major maintenance budget for tank integrity
+ Ensure tank inspection and repairs are documented per regulatory requirements and Kinder Morgan standards and that they are being maintained, organized, and can be accessed for future reference as needed
+ Provide technical support during the review of tank integrity processes and procedures to maintain consistent assessment and repair practices
+ Provide support to field maintenance technicians and operations staffs
+ Understand and review tank level alarms per API 2350 and KM standards
+ Consistently maintain and demonstrate a high regard for personal safety as well as the safety of employees, the general public, and company assets
+ Perform other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
Education:
+ Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or 3 - 5 yrs. experience in construction management or aboveground storage tanks
+ API 653 certification a plus, but not required
Experience/Specific Knowledge:
+ Practical working experience in the design, operation, inspection, maintenance and/or repair of aboveground storage tanks
+ Experience in project management skills including project scoping and estimating utilizing work breakdown structures, cost and schedule control, design and construction management, team building, resource planning, procurement and permitting
+ Knowledge of pertinent API standards, particularly API 650 and 653
+ Knowledge of DOT Part 195 regulations related to operating above-ground storage tanks
+ Knowledge of API 510 and 2350 standards
Certifications, Licenses and Registrations:
+ Must be able to obtain and maintain a Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC). Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company
+ Candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and complete a background check after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed

+ Must be proficient with computer applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and Outlook
+ Must be accountable to and take direction from leadership, keep required work schedules and follow work rules
Physical Demands:
+ Must have the ability to perform sedentary to light work, exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, or constantly lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Reach overhead for items, stoop, bend and twist while working. Other physical activities include seeing, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and performing repetitive motions. Visual acuity requirements may color, depth perception and field of vision necessary to prepare and analyze data, operate and computer and read
+ Must have the ability to climb tank stairs and walk over uneven surfaces at field facilities and gain access in tank through 20” – 36” manways
Working Conditions:
+ Must be willing and able to work in a corporate office environment
+ Must be willing and able to work outside in the plant environment, in all types of climatic conditions
+ Travel to field or corporate locations will be required depending on nature of ongoing work activities (approximately 30% with overnight stays)
+ Subject to PHMSA compliant drug testing program
+ Must be willing and able to carry a cell phone and to respond when contacted
Supervisory Responsibility:
Must be able to manage projects through third party contractors and inspectors
