Job Title: Machine Operator
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Machine Operator responsible for performing duties across multiple levels, ensuring safety and quality in operations. The role requires proficiency in handling various machines and equipment while adhering to operational protocols.
Responsibilities
+ Perform duties safely and conduct quality checks using a micrometer.
+ Pull rod from inventory, transfer it to staging, and load it into the rod payoff system as required.
+ Operate a forklift and keep the rod clean at the end of production.
+ Accurately load the rod payoffs with the applicable material and weld the assigned rod without breakage.
+ Clear rod tangles on any wire drawing machine.
+ For Level 2, assemble Pressure/Drawing dies and insert them into die boxes according to the traveler.
+ Change out carriers and properly point wire for string-up purposes.
+ Conduct physical tests on the wire, input information into the system, and assist in fixing wire breaks.
+ Understand how to set cast and helix on machines and have a general understanding of machine controls.
+ For Level 3, have complete knowledge of setting cast, helix, and stringing a machine.
+ Possess a good working knowledge of wire drawing methodologies and operate machines at expected utilization levels.
Essential Skills
+ 1-3 years of manufacturing experience.
+ 1-3 years of machine operating experience.
+ 1-3 years of assembly experience.
+ Ability to operate a forklift.
+ Proficiency in micrometer use and blueprint reading.
+ Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 2+ years of experience within a similar manufacturing environment.
+ Forklift operation is a plus; training will be provided if not certified.
+ Ability to lift between 30-50 pounds and stand for 12 hours at a time.
+ Experience with computer and related equipment.
+ Familiarity with any applicable shop equipment, including forklifts, pulling dogs, butt welders, payoffs/take-ups, and deadlock operations.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Granite Falls, North Carolina.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
