Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Garden City, New York. This is a Contract-to-continuing position, offering a fantastic opportunity for an individual eager to contribute to a growing organization. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate and efficient processing of invoices and payments.

Responsibilities:

• Review and process a high volume of invoices while ensuring accuracy and proper coding.

• Manage and execute check runs in a timely and efficient manner.

• Reconcile vendor statements and promptly address discrepancies.

• Collaborate with team members to ensure all accounts payable tasks are completed accurately and on schedule.

• Maintain organized and up-to-date records for all accounts payable transactions.

• Verify invoice details, including amounts and payment terms, to ensure compliance with company policies.

• Handle inquiries from vendors and internal departments regarding payment status.

• Assist in preparing reports related to accounts payable and expenditures.

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency within the accounts payable function.

Requirements

• Proven experience in accounts payable or a related financial role.

• Strong understanding of invoice processing, coding, and payment procedures.

• Proficiency in managing check runs and reconciling vendor accounts.

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Effective communication skills to liaise with vendors and internal teams.

• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Familiarity with accounting software and tools is preferred.
