• Senior Procurement Specialist

    Description

    Our client in the Somerville area is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to fill the role of Senior Procurement Specialist. This position involves key responsibilities in overseeing procurement processes, vendor management, and cost optimization strategies, as well as driving operational efficiency. The selected candidate will collaborate across teams to align purchasing activities with organizational priorities and ensure timely execution of procurement workflows. 3–5 years of procurement experience with significant exposure to advanced supply chain systems. Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or a related field is preferred.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Develop and manage supplier relationships to identify opportunities for improved value and cost savings.

    + Monitor and execute purchase orders through advanced software tools to ensure accurate and timely fulfillment.

    + Communicate and resolve vendor-related issues, including order discrepancies and changes to inventory plans.

    + Liaise with internal stakeholders to understand inventory and demand trends, driving informed purchasing decisions.

    + Prepare performance metrics and reports to evaluate procurement outcomes and supplier reliability.

    + Implement and refine policies and processes that support best practices in sourcing and procurement.

    + Conduct market research to identify trends impacting product cost and availability.

    Requirements

    + Demonstrated ability to manage vendor negotiations and relationships effectively.

    + Familiarity with ERP purchasing systems is highly desirable (specific platforms preferred but not required).

    + This is a high-impact role requiring strategic thinking, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to managing procurement activities in alignment with organizational goals.
