    Job Title: Die Repair Technician

    Job Description

    We are seeking skilled Tool & Die Repair Technicians responsible for the daily maintenance, upkeep, and repair of all dies on the plant floor. This role is crucial to support production and meet quality expectations.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform die maintenance on all types of dies.

    + Use micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts.

    + Set up and operate lathes, mills, and bench grinders to cut, bore, grind, and shape to specific dimensions.

    + Cut, shape, and trim blanks or blocks to specific lengths or shapes using power and hand tools.

    + Resolve machine, tooling, and setup problems that may arise.

    + Utilize grinding and welding instruments to repair, complete, or perform preventive maintenance on dies.

    + Work inside the tool room and the press to repair progressive and transfer dies.

    + Read, interpret, and work with part/tool drawings.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in die maintenance and die repair.

    + Proficiency with tool and die, welding, stamping press, and hand tools.

    + Ability to perform die tryout, die casting, and die assembly.

    + Experience with stamping, progressive die, and transfer die.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Must have the ability to rebuild and repair die sections for transfer and progressive dies.

    + Must be capable of repairing dies both in the tool room and inside presses.

    + Ability to operate CNC and manual mills and lathes.

    + Candidates must have their own tools.

    + 2-3 years of die repair experience required for entry-level positions.

    + 5-10 years of experience preferred for senior-level positions.

    + Die welding experience is preferred.

    Work Environment

     

    Join a dynamic, Tier 2, non-union facility spread across a 250,000 square foot stamping plant on 60 acres. Work with advanced equipment, including 59 stamping presses and a 7 press tandem line. Our facility boasts toggle presses up to 3250 tons and coil-fed progressive die capability of up to 3,000 tons. Shifts available: 1st Shift from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM and 2nd Shift from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM, Monday through Friday. Please be available for weekend work as needed based on workload.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Belleville, Michigan.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $38.00/hr.
