Job Title: Environmental Technician – Equipment Operator

**Location:** Arvada, CO (Shop-based) | Projects across Boulder & Denver Metro

**Job Type:** Contract-to-Hire

Position Summary

As an Environmental Technician – Equipment Operator, you’ll play a vital role in protecting communities and ecosystems by operating heavy equipment and performing fieldwork that supports environmental cleanup and hazardous material management. Responsibilities

+ Operate heavy machinery including skid steers, mini excavators, and loaders

+ Support environmental emergency response, site remediation, and facility cleanup projects

+ Perform manual labor tasks such as soil excavation, concrete removal, and site preparation

+ Safely handle, package, and prepare hazardous materials for transport and disposal

+ Decontaminate tools, vehicles, and work areas to ensure safety and compliance

+ Respond to emergency spills using specialized equipment, including Vac trucks

+ Maintain accurate records of materials handled and equipment used

Qualifications

+ 2–5 years of experience in construction, general labor, or a related field

+ CDL Class B license with a clean MVR, or willingness to obtain

+ Demonstrated proficiency in operating heavy equipment

+ High school diploma or equivalent

+ Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions

+ Willingness to work a rotating on-call schedule (4 weeks active, 1 week on-call)

+ Ability to travel for short-term environmental projects

+ Capable of wearing a respirator and working with hazardous materials

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00/hr.
