Description
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join our team in Chicago, Illinois. This role combines responsibilities in both accounting and human resources, requiring someone who is skilled at managing financial operations while supporting HR functions. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment that includes both office and manufacturing settings.
Responsibilities:
• Administer payroll processes, employee benefits, 401(k) plans, and maintain accurate employee records.
• Manage key HR tasks such as onboarding, terminations, performance reviews, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.
• Facilitate union relations, oversee grievance handling, and support contract negotiation processes.
• Monitor safety initiatives, including workers’ compensation cases, safety reporting, and compliance with safety standards.
• Coordinate employee engagement activities, such as recognition events, and ensure timely completion of HR audits.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, perform account reconciliations, and support month-end close activities.
• Manage vendor invoicing, customer collections, and cash receipt postings.
• Prepare and analyze weekly and monthly financial and operational reports for management review.
• Maintain the general ledger, process accruals, and ensure accuracy in journal entries.
Salary - $75-85K

Requirements
• Associate degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of combined experience in human resources, payroll, and accounting functions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting systems; experience with Sage or similar platforms is a plus.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to solve problems effectively.
• In-depth understanding of federal and state employment laws as well as accounting principles.
• Comfortable working in both office and manufacturing environments, including conducting safety audits and investigations.
• Willingness to occasionally work evenings or weekends as required by business needs.
Salary - $75-85K
