Our Community Development Department is seeking to add an Community Development Specialist to their team! In this role you will provide administrative support in the Community Development department in conjunction with the department director and staff. Knowledgeable in computer applications, including Windows, Microsoft Office and Outlook. Performs data entry using Excel and Donor Perfect (fundraising software). Exhibits judgment in organization and prioritization of work load. Works independently, interacts with various publics and performs a variety of tasks related to special projects, public relations and communications.
Responsibilities:
+ Maintain financial records, mailing lists and other data using Excel and Donor Perfect. Enter donations and pledges in Donor Perfect as they are received. Send appropriate acknowledgements and receipts to donors. Produce daily deposits, weekly reports, month end reports, monthly invoices, year end reports, petty cash settlements and all event reports. Prepare standard vouchers as necessary. Manage Donor Perfect database and accurate data filtering for generating spreadsheets, reports and correspondence. Perform general maintenance on data base.
+ Maintain logs of daily mail, deposits, and work orders.
+ Provide support for Director when necessary, including writing press releases and newsletter articles.
+ Act as a field reporter/photographer when necessary.
+ Provide support and assist with administration of special events. Keep special event supplies and materials organized.
+ Communicate with board members, community volunteers, public officials and business leaders as required for The Arc and Friends of The Arc Foundation, in person, over the phone and/or in written communication.
+ Do bids, get quotes for special projects in department and for other departments, including, but not limited, to signage and printing.
Qualifications :
+ High School Diploma or GED and 3-5 years of experience in community development, administration, management, communications or business is preferred.
+ Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook)
+ Knowledge of Oneida and Lewis Counties, particularly communities in the Mohawk Valley area is desirable.
+ Ability to interact with various publics.
PAY & PERKS:
