The Design Engineering Intern assists the Engineering team with new product, mechanical design, product improvements, documentation, and production fixture design. The position provides hands-on Design Engineering experience in an electronics manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

+ Helps create designs that are aligned with assembly and manufacturing capabilities; perform Design-for-Manufacturing reviews

+ Helps design and implement tooling and fixtures for effective manufacturing

+ Helps troubleshoot and recommend solutions for design and production issues

+ Work with Manufacturing Engineering team to develop assembly, process control and quality workmanship procedures

+ Supports purchasing, quality, test, and production departments to ensure product integrity is maintained

+ Supports cost justification studies and ROI for capital equipment

+ Supports SOW development for equipment implementation and validation

Job Requirements

+ Graduate of or currently enrolled in college or university Engineering Program.

+ If currently enrolled, Junior or Senior level, preferred. Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical Engineering discipline, preferred.

+ Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office.

+ Working knowledge of AutoCAD or SolidWorks, preferred.

+ Ability to work minimum 20 hours per week
