Work Location:** **This role requires up to 90% onsite presence.
Overview
The Training Specialist-Operations will be responsible for design, development, and implementation of training for new and existing associates as well as supporting the training needs for organizational initiatives. In addition, the Specialist will assume supervisory responsibilities for their new hire classes.
Qualifications
+ High school diploma or GED required. Associates degree preferred.
+ Three (3) years of health industry operations or corporate training experience required.
+ Proven ability to create and facilitate high impact, department specific and corporate-wide training initiatives from concept through lesson plans and implementation.
+ Knowledge of HMO commercial, PPO, EPO, POS, FSA, TPA, PBD, Indemnity, Consumer Directed, Medicare and Medicaid product lines a plus.
+ Possess strong coaching and mentoring skills.
+ Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize/organize in fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
+ Excellent soft skills (listening skills, people skills, etc.) and expertise in group facilitation along with proven problem-solving and decision-making skills.
+ Ability to learn new software programs quickly and create training guides. High level knowledge of Microsoft Office suite required. Familiarity with e-learning tools (Articulate) and corporate intranets/web sites.
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills.
+ Local travel required. Any Independent Health associate who uses a motor vehicle in the course of their duties representing Independent Health must be compliant with State Motor Vehicle laws and must follow the Policy that pertains to Driver’s License Requirements as a condition of employment.

Essential Accountabilities
Core New Hire Training
+ Develop, deliver, refine, and communicate all training and new hire curriculums.
+ Develop and continually refine departmental training materials.
+ Develop, deliver, and grade skill assessments.
+ Schedule and communicate new hire training.
+ Communicate trainee’s performance.
+ Create and update trainee handbooks/manuals.
+ Deliver individual, small group, and large forum training.
+ Supervise new hire classes; manage disciplinary functions and timecards.
Staff Development Training and Education
+ Develop, deliver, and communicate new training methods for continuous associate improvement and staff development.
+ Develop and deliver departmental staff development needs.
+ Work with resource coordinator to understand where staff development improvements are needed.
+ Deliver individual, small group, and large forum training.
Update Training
+ Assist in development and delivery of training on new products, benefits changes, system updates, and other information.
+ Develop training materials.
+ Develop, deliver, and grade skill assessments.
+ Coordinate training and delivery.
+ Maintain department portal page.
Communication
+ Work with departments to research new information, staff needs, training coordination, and student performance.
+ Communicate and schedule training needs in conjunction with staff development.
+ Work with quality assurance and resource management to ensure proper training is developed and delivered appropriately.
+ Work with various departments to schedule new hire orientations.
+ Provide ideas on system updates that may need specific testing.
+ Work with other functional areas to research policies, procedures, contracts, benefits, etc.
+ Work collaboratively with human resources to coordinate onboarding, supervision of new hire classes and handle any disciplinary occurrences, should they arise.
Strategic Initiatives
+ Assist in the development and implementation of training to support corporate strategic priorities.

Hiring Compensation Range: $26.00 - $30.00 hourly
_Compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to skills, education, location and experience._
In addition to base compensation, associates may be eligible for a scorecard incentive, full range of benefits and generous paid time off. The base salary range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
