Job Title: Observability Engineer (Datadog Specialist)
Schedule: 8 AM–4 PM ET
Duration: Anticipated to be at least 12 month contract
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Observability Engineer with strong expertise in Datadog dashboard development to support a large-scale observability initiative. This role involves building and optimizing dashboards for enterprise applications, enabling actionable insights into system performance and customer impact.
Key Responsibilities
+ Design, build, and maintain Datadog dashboards for monitoring critical applications.
+ Implement full-stack observability across infrastructure, applications, and services.
+ Configure integrations with third-party tools (e.g., ServiceNow, ITSM platforms).
+ Collaborate with SRE, DevOps, and engineering teams to align monitoring with business goals.
+ Analyze telemetry data and create meaningful visualizations for incident management.
+ Assist with automation of monitoring configurations using scripting and IaC tools.
Required Skills
+ Datadog dashboard development (3+ years, enterprise scale).
+ Familiarity with AWS environments.
+ Python scripting experience.
+ Understanding of APIs (Moogsoft preferred, open to others).
+ Strong grasp of observability concepts (logs, metrics, traces).
Nice-to-Have Skills
+ Experience with New Relic.
+ Familiarity with other observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk).
+ Exposure to Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines.
+ Cloud certifications (AWS, GCP, Azure).
Project Scope
+ Develop dashboards and reporting for 1300+ applications, starting with the most critical 50.
+ Work with diverse data sets across multiple environments.
+ Support integration and observability improvements during a major enterprise merger.
Ideal Candidate Profile
+ Either:
+ Dashboard/Reporting Analyst with strong observability and Datadog experience, or
+ Cloud/SRE Engineer with hands-on experience in observability tooling and dashboard creation.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr.
