Customs Entry Writer

Work Environment:
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
After 90 days of training:
Hybrid option: 3 days in office / 2 days remote
Based on performance and attendance
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of customs entry writing experience, with a balanced focus on both air (50%) and ocean (50%) entries.
- Responsible for completing customs entries, including AZ, and collecting and organizing all necessary import documentation such as customs invoices, certificates of origin, ISF filings, and conducting audits.
- Manages product classifications and determines appropriate tariff codes.
- Well-versed in customs regulations and compliance with government agency requirements.
- Experienced in reviewing and verifying import documents before ACE/ABI submission.
- Acts as the primary contact for customers, resolving issues promptly and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Knowledgeable in IEEPA, PGA, FDA, EPA, LACEY, TSCA regulations.
Description
Prepare and process import and export documentation in compliance with customs regulations, laws, and procedures.
Ensure shipments meet all applicable legal requirements to facilitate smooth import/export operations.
Calculate and process duties, tariffs, and taxes owed on shipments.
Classify goods using the appropriate tariff coding system.
Submit ISF (Import Security Filing) for ocean shipments – must-have experience.
Conduct bond reviews and ensure proper documentation is filed.
Navigate and manage entries using CargoWise software (3+ years required).
Communicate effectively with customs officials, clients, and transportation companies to ensure timely and compliant delivery of goods.
Monitor and trace shipments, resolving any issues that arise during the customs process.
Stay current on changes in import/export laws and regulations.
Provide guidance to clients on customs restrictions, insurance requirements, and tariff systems.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
