Aquatics Program Supervisor

The Provo Recreation Center is looking for a high-performing candidate to fill the lead worker role of Aquatics Program Supervisor.

What is the compensation?

Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour.

What will I do?

+ Supervise staff and volunteers.

+ Respond to emergencies.

+ Resolve conflict between customers, staff, and other members of the public.

+ Organize activities.

+ Maintain and enforce pool safety and rules.

+ Provide information regarding facility use and hours of operation.

+ Assist in general maintenance and clean-up of activities and facilities.

+ Assist staff members as needed; and perform other related duties as required.

What do I need to apply?

+ Sufficient job-related experience/training in Aquatics operations and supervision that would demonstrate an ability to perform the duties.

+ Must be 18 years of age or older at time of appointment.

+ Previous supervisor experience is desired.

What are the hours?

Up to 25 hours per week. Schedule varies between 5:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with some weekends required.

What are the physical and environmental factors?

This position requires working for extended periods of time at a computer; and possible exposure to hazardous chemicals (such as chlorine, caustic soda, and human waste), loud noises and large crowds, high stress situations or environments, and contact with the public and/or employees in potentially confrontational or uncomfortable circumstances.

What is the selection process?

This position is open until filled and will be closed when sufficient, qualified applications to proceed with a competitive selection process have been received (at least seven days). Applications will be reviewed in the order they are submitted. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications listed above to be eligible for consideration.

If selected for hire, candidate will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal. Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screen results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months.
