    The Global Marketing Engines & Experiences (GME&E) team is seeking a **Senior Manager of Creative Copy** to deliver original breakthrough copy that supports Microsoft’s commercial marketing campaigns. This role brings the Microsoft brand promise to life through insight-driven, culturally fluent, and social-first storytelling. You will partner closely with social leads, designers, strategists, and stakeholders across integrated marketing, product, and brand teams to develop high-impact copy that resonates with B2B communities. From quick-turn social assets to campaigns, you'll ensure our messaging is bold, relevant, and aligned to brand standards. Ideal candidates have a passion for words, strong strategic instincts, and a proven track record of crafting compelling copy that deeply connects brand with audience.

     

    Job Location: The primary location for this position is Redmond, WA. Additionally, there are three other locations where this role may be based. Candidates who do not reside in one of these four areas will be relocated to Redmond.

     

    This role is flexible in that you can work up to 50% from home.

    Responsibilities

    + Lead copy development across integrated marketing campaigns — particularly for social, digital, and emerging platforms.

    + Create engaging content to support always-on social presence, user generated content, and real time.

    + Translate complex product narratives into accessible, engaging copy that aligns with audience needs and channel best practices.

    + Craft platform-specific headlines, body copy, scripts, and messaging frameworks across the customer journey.

    + Maintain and evolve Microsoft’s brand voice through updated playbooks, guidelines, and tone-of-voice documentation.

    + Partner with design and creative stakeholders to bring integrated concepts to life.

    + Stay attuned to trends in culture, technology, and audience behavior to bring fresh thinking to every brief.

    + upport long-form content, short-form storytelling, and creative concepting for big ideas.

    + Participate in cross-functional writer’s rooms to drive creative excellence.

    + Manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail, deadlines, and creative quality.

    + Experiment with generative AI and automation tools to enhance ideation, iteration, and content workflows.

    Qualifications

    Required/minimum qualifications

    + 3+ years writing or content design experience AND a certification, degree, or training in English, Writing, Human-centered Design, Literature, or related field OR equivalent experience.

    + 1+ year(s) project leadership experience.

    + 3+ years of experience writing for digital, social, or integrated campaigns — ideally within a business to business or tech environment.

    Additional or preferred qualifications

    + 5+ years demonstrated growth in writing or content design AND a certification, degree, or training in English, Writing, Human-centered Design, Literature, or related field OR equivalent experience.

    + 3+ years project leadership experience.

    + 5+ years experience in a related content domain/area.

    + Portfolio demonstrating editorial range, platform fluency, and creative storytelling across formats.

    + 5+ years experience presentation and storytelling skills, including the ability to pitch ideas to senior stakeholders.

    + 5+ years experience working with commercial audiences and how to tailor messaging to meet strategic business outcomes.

    + 5+ years experience with Microsoft products and ecosystem is a plus. Experience working with creative teams and agencies; agency experience preferred. Enthusiastic, collaborative, and proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership and creative pride.

     

    Writing IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
